Despite its new suburban location, this establishment manages to evoke a rustic feeling situated off of Passaic Avenue in Fairfield. My partner, our friends and I were first-timers tonight to Dough Artisan Pizza for a Saturday dinner, with reservations made off of their website. It’s a very popular spot with plenty of indoor seating and a spacious patio. Upon arrival , we were greeted by the amazing mural work at the entrance. A friendly host confirmed our presence, and we had to wait about 20 minutes as the place was packed. The menu is updated frequently, as they just switched over to fall. About 85 percent of the ingredients used here are from local purveyors, and the majority are organic. For starters, we decided on house-marinated mixed olives with sourdough bread, and zucchini chips. As an entree, we opted for Pumpkin Ravioli, Mac and Cheese, Black Angus Hanger Steak, and Heritage All-Natural Chicken. We even had room for the desserts and ordered the carrot cake with chocolate sauce and coconut cake. The zucchini chips were the star of this show, as they were light, crispy, and not greasy. The food was okay; the pumpkin ravioli was bland, and the dessert was a flop. The atmosphere was nice but loud and manageable, and the price was reasonable. During dinner, we were visited by management to ask if everything was on point. Every single person that worked there was professional and extremely friendly. The service was delightful, and our server, Christina, was friendly and accommodating. We look forward to another chance to come back...

Visited Dough on a Friday night during Lent, so at 5:30pm, the place was packed. The first thing that hit me as I walked in the door was not the aromatic flavors from the kitchen, but the overpowering smell from the mega candle burning in the front entrance way. I am a fan of candles, but this was even too much for me. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Got the wings for an appetizer, which were decent. Could’ve been a little more crispy since they were advertised as flame roasted, but they had a good flavor to them. We were with friends, so we ordered a few different pies since rhey are smaller than a traditional sized pizza. The best one was the margherita. The mushroom pie was loaded with mushrooms and dominated by truffle. It was good, just a bit much for me. We tried an eggplant with vodka sauce which sounded amazing, but the final product was a miss. True to the place’s name, the pizzas are a bit doughy. If you like your pizza crispy with a little bit of crunch, Dough is not the pizza place for you. After hearing the desserts were homemade, I had to try my favorite dessert—banana cream pie. Wish I didn’t. This was really the furthest thing from a banana cream pie. It had bananas resting on top of some custard-like creation followed by a crust that yielded not one iota of buttery flavor. It was one of the most disappointing desserts I’ve ever had. Overall, the place was lively and the food was good. I’d go back again—just not...

First timers here with my family and grandchild and we were pleasantly surprised. The interior is welcoming, warm and comfortable. Great Bar and Grill atmosphere, nicely decorated. The main thing besides how good the food was is the exceptional working crew there. I believe our server's name was Valentina, she was wonderful, friendly, always smiling and very helpful. Everyone, whether it be a server, busboy or manager was incredibly helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us in any way possible, I never saw this kind of service. I was impressed with the work ethic and the knowledge of these young people. It's hard to find great workers in this day of age but these employees were fantastic. Example: It was my birthday and my sons birthday celebration and after dinner they came out and brought cake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday, my two year old granddaughter was not at the table at the time and she missed the candle celebration. The crew recognized that and brought out another cake with a candle and sang again in front of her... THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I just wanted to thank the whole crew for taking their time and making our evening so special and last but least... compliments to the chefs, from Zucchini sticks, salads, pizzas and dessert, everything was delicious. THANK...

We don't eat out often, but when we do, my family almost always settles on Dough as our restaurant of choice, and they never disappoint! My two kids are two of the pickiest eaters to be found on Planet Earth, but the food is so good at Dough that they even tried (and LOVE) the zucchini crisps appetizer. Yes, Dough managed to get 2 kids who subsist on mac & cheese and hot dogs to fall in love with zucchini. My wife absolutely lives for the winter menu short rib pizza. At Dough I have tried (and loved) all sorts of things on pizza that I never would have thought to consider, like squash blossoms and hot honey. But the Winter Vibe pie I ate tonight was the crowning recipe of all the many delicious things I have eaten in their restaurant. Salami, Burrata (made in-house), marinara, cherry pepper, oregano, and balsamic glaze. It was pizza perfection! All that deliciousness coupled with friendly ,engaging, ,attentive, knowledgeable and professional staff and a cozy, warm welcoming decor keep us coming back. It is telling that even in the quiet moments, every member of the Dough team is busy doing something... nobody is ever standing around with their hands in their pockets or leaning on a counter. Dough is a gem of a restaurant. Highly recommended!!
