Tavern 292 — Restaurant in Fairfield

First time visiting myself personally. The friends I got together suggested we meet here for our annual get togethers, since two of them have been numerous times and had good things to say. Visited on a Friday night after work. It was busy and bigger than it looked. We ordered Guac N' Chips & the Buffalo Chicken Avocado rolls for our apps. The portions were good. The rolls came with Blue cheese. I'm personally not a blue cheese fan so I dipped mine in the Guacamole. For my main dish I ordered the Baby Back BBQ Ribs. This dish came with 2 sides. I ordered the BLT Wedge. I should have asked what came with it. It had Blue cheese and very little bacon at all. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like Blue cheese or tiny bits of bacon hidden in a quarter wedge of lettuce. My other side ordered was Mac and cheese which my friends raved about. I think my friends overhyped it. I was expecting more. It was tasty but the way they built it up so much made it a bit of a downer.

The ribs were very good. The meat was so tender and slide off the bone. The sauce was very good as well. I'm a staunch critic when it comes to BBQ. My family is from the south so fair our unfair it's hard to compare any with what I've tried to date. I'd rate this 7.5 out of 10.

I normally dont leave reviews good or bad but I can not believe the service I just received here We walked in a little after 630 and we were told 20 mins wait almost 45 mins goes by befor we got a seated ok we get it Saturday nights are busy so we place our order fairly quickly and it is now 820 and I just left with no food it still didnt come out and all we ordered was a burger and a flat steak everyone that was sat around us after we sat down got food and we still had nothing and the only thing the waiter could say to me was it takes time to make the food I'm just blown away with this kind of place treating customers like this totally unacceptable and even when I was trying to leave they kept insisting this is normal to wait this long and keep waiting for simple food. Not to mention that the silvewarware was dirty and the place was so overcrowded this would be a negative star rating if I could one star is to much for that...

On Friday 1/12/24 @ 7:00pm, went to Tavern 292 along with two of my girlfriends.. The waitress Valerie was Terrible she was Rude and Very Unprofessional. Valerie Never once asked Us if our cocktails or food was good..She total ignored Us and we had more interaction with the young man who would bring our food..The food was cold and We had to send it back Valerie was nowhere to be found both times..My girlfriends and I asked Valerie for the check finally when she came to the table across from us.. I decided to go speak to the Manager Helen and express our Disappointment of the Service in which Valerie didn’t provide to Us and Psy the bill.
