Tried this place on a whim with my partner back in July for my birthday, and we've returned for takeout multiple times since! I had been missing this type of food in this area for some time and I'm glad it's back!
We've only tried the mofongos and empanadas at this time, but they are absolutely worth 5 stars-- very delicious and the best texturally that I've had. The mofongo was full of garlic and bits of your choice of meat. It is also served with a little side of broth and some lettuce, tomato, and crema. Personally, I do like mixing it all together on the board it comes out on or in the big section of the takeout container. The empanadas have that just-right level of greasy and are very flavorful. They come with a pink sauce I unfortunately don't know the name of but thouroughly enjoyed!
The menu is mostly in Spanish, so if you're not fluent or conversational in Spanish, it might be helpful to have Google Translate open, but the service was excellent and I often see them post live music nights on Instagram. They were very helpful to us and helped us...
Read moreI’m from Puerto Rico so I’m familiar with Caribbean food. I’ve been to other restaurants in Cincy and the food is ok but this food was very good. The mofongo was excellent. I came with a big group for lunch and I was surprised they were able to handle the orders so quick. Everything is made to order (as it should be). I do have a couple of suggestions for the owners:
The price is a little high for lunch. I don’t care cause I appreciate the food but if you are trying to get repeat customers, people will have a hard time paying more than $15 for lunch. Maybe come up with some smaller portion menu for lunchtime for some people.
We ordered some croquetas (croquettes) and they were not enough for the group size to share so I had to end up ordering more, maybe bring enough for the group when an appetizer is ordered. Just suggestions.
Some complimentary garlic bread for customers would be good and this is normal in Puerto Rico not sure in the DR but it would be nice.
Overall, I recommend this place. I will be back and the food...

Coming in, we were received and greated (by brother in law). We sat and 5 minutes later the brother in law took our drinks order, two waters, one mandarin Jarrito and 1 diet coke. 5 minutes later we received two waters, two cokes and one tamarind Jarrito. The lady that brought us the drinks fixed the drink order with no issues.
We waited 10 to 15 minutes; and the brother in law has not come back to take out order or to see if we had any questions. The nice lady that brought the drinks heard me tell my wife, "im leaving". She apologized for the confusion; she believed the brother in law was taking our order, she gladly took our order.
One of the dinners asked the brother in law to sing a "ballenato". The brother in law agreed however the brother in law raised the music volume. Altought the dinner dude signing was amazing, my ear drums were ringing and my son (autistic) had to placed his herphones to minimize the noise of the loud music.
Be careful who runs a buisness. It can be harmed by...
