We went to the Springdale (Cincinnati) Papadeaux to celebrate my wife's final radiation treatment on May 28 ,2021. She did 6 months chemo, surgery and over 30 radiation treatments and she wanted to eat at Papadeaux's to mark being cancer free. We had been wanting to go for a while and this finally got us there. We did call ahead seating on a Friday night and by the time we arrived we were seated fairly quickly. Our server, Shawn (Sean), asked if we had been there before and we said no and he did a good job explaining the menu and welcoming us. We ordered the mozzarella cheese bites and two sodas. The appetizer was delicious and plentiful. Bread was brought to the table, nice crusty outside, soft on the inside, butter was delicious. Our server was attentive with refills. I ordered the Papadeaux Platter (pictured), my wife ordered the Seafood Cobb salad with no Bleu cheese and only shrimp, Our son got the chicken fingers kid meal. Things were going well until I asked for another round of bread, our server made a weird snort like this was a ridiculous request, maybe because he knew our food was coming, but said he would get us some more. Another server brought our meal and the Cobb salad had Bleu cheese and other seafood in it. We mentioned it to the person delivering the food and he seemed like he didn't know what to do and said he'd get a manager. Shawn returned and we explained the issue and he took the salad and walked away. Not "I'm sorry this happened","I'll make this right", just walked away. He later brought a new salad which was beautiful and my wife stated was delicious, but still no acknowledgement from our waiter that an error happened. All of the meals were delicious and generous portions. We finished the meal, Shawn brought some boxes and offered us dessert, which we declined because of all the food. When he brought the book back my credit card was not in it. I asked where it was and he stated, "it was in there when I gave it to you". I replied that it was not. He looked around and came back with my card. I asked where it was and he said "over there" and walked away. Not "I apologize for this, I'm so sorry". Just "over there" and walked away. A manager saw me staring as he walked away and came over to me. I explained what happened and she said "you got your card?" and I stated that I had but since my card had been missing I didn't know who had it and for how long and that I'd probably have to cancel it. My wife and I both recently had our card numbers stolen and illegally used so I'm hypersensitive about this now. The manager went to investigate and returned to tell me it fell out as Shawn was pouring water at another table and the patrons at that table had it and there was no need to cancel my card, smiled and walked away. Again, no one apologized for this happening. This was supposed to be a joyous celebration for us and just became a huge disappointment. The food was good, the atmosphere nice and up until things went wrong, the service was excellent. I still tipped Shawn 20% but just wished someone would have apologized or acted like they cared. Bill totaled $95.19 for two sodas, a kid's meal, mozzarella bites appetizer, a Seafood Cobb Salad and a...
Read moreMixed review ….my husband and I decided to give the Springdale location a try last night…after 2 previous visits in 2023 we weren’t impressed. But recently we decided to go again and try other options on the menu and we were surprised. Food is great, well seasoned. Today we tried crispy alligator it’s basically like chicken tenders, but more soft. For main entree my husband had pasta Mardi Gras and I Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta, which was delicious BUT it did NOT COME WITH ALL the ingredients. It only came with shrimp and spinach!! Which is highway robbery because according to the menu it’s supposed to come with: Jumbo lump crab, shrimp, octopus, spinach, San Marzano tomatoes, tagliatelle pasta, white wine cream sauce. Seems like they ran out of ingredients and decided to make it anyway, which is NOT cool, because it’s a $43 plate, and I only got spinach and shrimp, which you”ll see in the pic below. Nonetheless it was still tasty. I was also disappointed because I made reservations and when we arrived it was super busy and no available seats so we sat at the bar, which the staff was lovely and we waited 40 mins to actually be seated but why allow customers to make reservations and confirm it if you don’t have the availability??? Once we were seated the bartender handed us off which was extremely helpful and made us feel a bit more relaxed. Our new server was also sweet didn’t get her name so that made up for it. She offered us the banana pudding for dessert which was 👍🏾 great! It is a seasonal desert so if u go it’s a must. I’m overall pleased with my visit but I think in order to please the customer they should work on sticking to reservations and not allowing you to make if it’s not available and letting customers know when ingredients are out and not making the order. I basically didn’t get the chance to REALLY enjoy my entree because it was lacking major ingredients! I love Pappadeaux because I’ve been to several different location, but this one in Ohio is a big NO!!
Edit: after looking at other customer reviews I’m even more disappointed because another customer order what I was supposed to get and got all the ingredients that is extremely unacceptable. The last photo shown below is a customer review I took a...
Read moreMy husband and I ate dinner at Pappadeaux for the first time last night to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. I chose this restaurant because they offered lobster. The outside courtyard area is really lovely. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Sunday night. We had reservations and only had to wait a few minutes for a clean table. The main dining room was extremely loud. we asked the hostess to sit in a two-person booth in the bar area. We waited a few minutes for the server to appear. It seemed that the servers also had to mix their own cocktails. There was no busboy to bring bread or water to the table. We waited at least 15 minutes for the cocktails to arrive. My gin martini was good but warm. I definitely appreciated the freshly made blue cheese olives. My husband's mule was very sweet and did not taste correctly made. I also asked for water and had to ask multiple times to get a glass. We had an appetizer of Pappadeaux oysters very much like oysters Rockefeller. They were large and very tasty. My husband ordered the red fish and shrimp over rice. I ordered the live Maine lobster. My husband liked the fish and felt it was a very large serving size. I had the three and a half pound lobster. It was large and good but on the tough side, not what it should be for $85. The melted butter was very salty. Our server did stop by occasionally to check that the food was satisfactory. Service overall was very slow and definitely lacking. No lemons provided with the lobster or wet wipes after wrestling with it. I did notice other bar patrons also having issues with service. As a side note I was disappointed in the restaurant guests. At the prices on the menu and elegant decor, it is a shame to see so many patrons in flip-flops and tank tops. It did not appear that the restaurant was hurting for business and I suggest maybe setting some standards for dress code. This restaurant is not close to our home. The coupon for free appetizer was a nice perk to help offset the bill, but $185 for dinner for two is really outrageous. We will not return in the future based on service, cost and clientele. I was really hoping for a refined and...
