Visited three times and will not return. I’ll break down all three visits below. Service is terrible. Staff is terrible. Owner is rude and obnoxious. I’ve done hundreds of reviews and honestly cannot believe the 5 star reviews for this establishment! Must be family and friends or offered some kind of incentive.
First visit in Fall 2020... Sunday brunch. The service was very slow. Took over an hour to get our food. Only two other customers besides our party of six. A few other couples came and went because they did not get served at their tables. The staff and the chef (owner) fought throughout the meal. Yelling and slamming objects. Our waitress (the only one waiting tables) was actually fired in the middle of her shift. All of the customers were consoling her. She sobbed the entire time. She was publicly humiliated. No drink refills at all. Food items were wrong. Two of us had to eat without flatware or napkins. Food was okay but wrong. Terrible experience.
Second visit in January 2021... Sunday brunch. Jazz music was good. My wife and I were the only two customers for about 30 minutes. Another couple arrived but drink orders were wrong and they gave up on their food. We waited another 30-45 minutes before food arrived. No one else showed up. I had chicken and waffles, she had lasagna. Food was good but no drink refills. Waiter took order, delivered food, and dropped the check. He was on his phone the entire time with no regard for service. People would often come in the door, look around, and then leave. No one was there to greet or seat them. We almost decided not to return after this visit.
Final visit Sunday, March 28, 2021. Slow, slow service. Waited an hour and a half. Never served our food. We ordered food with drinks because we were prepared for slow service. Only a table of three in the restaurant when we arrived. We never saw their food either. My wife asked for our son to get his to go, because he was going to be late to work. The chef mumbled and griped at the waiter loud enough for the entire restaurant to here. They told my wife the food would be ready in two minutes. After 15-20 more minutes we asked to pay for our son’s to go plates and leave. Chef said loudly, “They will be losing out now because now it’s a to go order.” Not sure what that means. When my wife searched for our waiter a second time to inquire about time, because our other son was now late to work, the waiter spoke to the chef. The owner/chef yelled “Get them out of my restaurant. I’m not having that in my restaurant!” We were shocked and speechless. We offered to pay the waiter for our drinks but were told to just go. We never raised a voice. We never griped about the service. We just wanted our food but felt humiliated. We’ve never been asked to leave a restaurant. Good thing less than a dozen people had to witness these events. We will not go back. Not sure how this place is still...
Read moreCame here the other day with my mother who is in the Retirement home connected to this establishment And I took her to eat here because she is wheelchair bound and it’s very very hard to load her in the car without her being in some type of pain so I thought this place would be yummy and perfect, I was really was let down by the quality of service and the food I received for me and my mother, I ordered fish and chips and the pricing was outrageous. And my mother ordered some type of salad it was close to 20 dollars, our bill with drinks was close to 60 dollars, which normally I don’t have a problem paying but for issues at hand the price isn’t warranted, The only reason I can think this place is still in business is because it’s attached to a retirement home and they are getting traffic from that. If you live in Fairhope like we do there is so many other places I would pick to come to before I come here, but we sat there for about 15 minutes before anyone came to see us or before we received any drinks, because of this and how old my mother is and her medical conditions I had to go to my mothers room to get her something to drink, I could not understand why we were not being seen due to their being only two more parties in the restaurant. and when I got my food it was luke warm at best and my fish had cold spots in it when I was biting down into it. My mothers said her salad was ok but only had a couple of bites, I hate leaving bad reviews but I just had to in this case. I wish I would have read the reviews because the owner can’t take criticism at all and I wish I wouldn’t have given her money to keep this restaurant in business, if you look at the bad reviews she has she will reply to them and attack the people that leave them. I know she will probably do the same to this one and prove my point, how about instead of Attacking people giving you lower score reviews you should listen to them and adjust yourself, I know I will come back to this establishment to give you another chance at some point because you are so close to my house and so convenient so I hope when I come back next time it is a different experience, and if it is I will...
Read moreMy wife and I visited last night for our anniversary, it was our first time there. We're both very well traveled and and are experienced diners, so our rating is based on what this place is described to be. It's not located where we expected to find a restaurant, but once you're there, you'll see why it makes perfect sense. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a Parisienne cafe', comfortable, and casual. It's very clean, from the floors to the ceiling, it looks very well kept.
We were greeted by a polite and friendly young man who sat us in a private corner table, which was very nice. The owner/chef came out to say hello and tell us about the menu, the food and even the food prep, which was slo very nice, since she takes great care to deliver a clean and healthy food selection.
We reviewed the menu and made our selections, and placed our order. My wife had the Haddock, served on a bed of rice, and she also ordered a salad. I had the Ribeye, with mashed potato and broccoli, and a wonderful Italian soup. The meals were fantastic, the salad was fresh and tasty, and the soup was some of the best I've ever had. My wife loved the haddock, and she's not a huge fan of rice, but in this case, she ate every bite, saying that it was so light and flavorful she couldn't stop herself. My ribeye was perfection, I'm a meat guy, and I was in my happy place. Even the potato was amazing, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly.
In both our opinion's, this is some of the best food we've had, anywhere. The price is reasonable for the quality you are receiving, and we'll be returning soon. We highly recommend Oui Oui Paris to anyone looking for an incredibly tasty meal in a nice,...
