I go to mcdonald's all the time. In fact, you can say i'm a connoisseur of mcdonald's. I drive from my home in Fairmont to points all over for various jobs that day. After years and years of trial-and-error I'm seeing which one is the most efficient and best quality. (Yes there are quality differences even in mcdonalds). I can honestly say that stopping here for breakfast will put me behind. if there is one car in the drive through it will take 3 to 5 times longer than any other McDonald's that I go to. If i see more than 1 car at the drivethru i know to keep rolling. This isn't opinion. This is literally me going to this McDonald's 3 to 5 times a week for years and then going to other ones out of frustration. I've learned my lesson MANY times so this isn't some sort of single episode review. I would sonetimes skip this McD's and even drive 80 miles to go to one in Grantsville, MD along I68 which is my favorite. (That McD's is in the middle of nowhere and at 6am this place with one window and one worker at the window is more efficient and better/fresher food than Fairmont. How can that be?) I've accidentally entered the drive thru in Fairmont looking like it was empty and when I pull around there's 2 cars sitting there and we sit. And sit. And sit. No efficiency or urgency at all. They may have their excuses but when I don't see this at other McDonalds I know it's a problem at this location. I even had one guy flipping the F out behind me honking and yelling after 15 minutes of sitting.
How about quality?? When i go to other McD's my food is actually hot. I've gotten bagel breakfast sandwiches with hard/crispy and cold-ish bagels. Yuk. I certainly want to give my local McDonald's the business But between the time it takes and the lower quality I can't stand stopping in Fairmont for...
Read moreReviewing just for laughs because regardless of reviews McDonald's will never go broke no matter how bad the service is. This is at 6:30 am so I guess the employees weren't fully awake. First I had to repeat my order 3 times, 2 Mcmuffins with egg and a medium half caff with creamer, "how many creamer?" 3 please and you got that right? Half regular half decaf? "Yes", okay great. After finally moving on to the next step I approach the paying window, wow this is the fastest one ever because the money lady was ready with my coffee. Of course skeptical of how fast coffee can be done while she took my payment I checked it and of course no creamer. I figured it was not a half caff but whatever at this point. I tell her I need the creamer and she tells me "It's in the coffee" I had to refrain from being an absolute a-hole about it cause it's 6:30 in the morning and I don't want to cause a fight, I tell her no it's not, I just checked. Annoyed she then goes off to the back for a few minutes I guess this is why the money lady shouldn't give out coffee. After she finally comes back from a trip to the local store I guess 😂 she hands me 2 creamers! I mean COME ON I said 3 like 3 times!! And how am I supposed to stir it too? Getting ready to toss this out and just drive off but I remember that this is only the start of my day and fighting with the McDonald's ladies doesn't fit my schedule. Moved on to the next window q I'm handed my food and I check there's 2 muffins there Yes one thing right! Tears of joy cover my eyes only to find no egg in my Mcmuffins BUT at least I was charged for plain ones so I was able to move on with my life and decide to never go...
Read moreAtmosphere – ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) This is a modern McDonald’s with a clean, updated design. The dining room is a decent size with plenty of seating options, and the refreshment area was tidy. The restroom was also clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, the atmosphere is inviting and well-kept.
Service – ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) It took a few minutes before anyone came to the counter, likely because most customers use the kiosks. I prefer to order in person so I can see how the staff handles requests. When I ordered my usual bacon, egg, and cheese McMuffin (with a folded egg instead of the round egg), the cashier initially told me it couldn’t be done. I offered to pay extra, but he still seemed unsure how to enter it in the register. Rather than asking for help, there was some back-and-forth before he figured it out. There was also a minor issue with my code for a free iced caramel coffee, which took some tinkering before it worked. Once the order was placed, the food came out fairly quickly.
Food – ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) The sandwich was okay, but the English muffin was slightly burnt and the bacon wasn’t as crispy as I like. It was edible, but not great. The iced caramel coffee, however, was tasty and made just right.
Overall: This location has potential to be better. Staff should be better trained on handling simple custom requests—especially when it’s just substituting one ingredient for another. Even if there’s an upcharge, customers shouldn’t be told something “can’t be done” when it’s a basic sandwich modification. With more attentive service and consistent food prep, this could easily be a...
