After visiting several times, their product went from quite good to marginal. The toppings on our pizzas became less and less. We thought maybe it was just a fluke...not so much. The next time we ordered, my flatbread sandwich had barely any chicken, and the advertised prosciutto was just ham. To make matters worse, there was a very long hair in my husband's salad. At that point, neither of us had an appetite. We had also ordered their dessert pizza, which was nothing like the description on the menu. The toppings were scant and haphazardly placed. It was as if they threw a few chocolate chip morsels and 16 mini marshmallows on an old crust. Wow, what a presentation. When my husband decided to reach out to the owner, he didn't get very far. Instead of a meaningful apology and some sort of a refund or free meal, the owner just shrugged the situation off. He didn't seem to care about the hair in our food; instead, he offered a lame excuse..."We do everything we can to avoid that, it happens." Even if that was the case, it was said so 'matter of factly', as if to imply, oh well, what can we do? How about hair nets???? You would think a relatively new establishment would want to keep their customers happy and keep them as return customers. Obviously, we will be giving our business elsewhere, where customer service...
Read moreI love Neapolitan style pizza and it is my personal preference if I have a choice in the matter. Short story, good pizza bordering on great.
I make my own and have spent an inordinate amount of time perfecting dough, sauce, etc. to my preferences so I grade a wood fired place based on how much better/worse they are to mine.
That said the dough they make here is pretty exceptional. Most likely a moderate multi-day ferment. It doesn't have much if any sour dough flavor but it does have excellent structure so probably 2-3 days. Tastes good, solid structure, good bubbling and nice leoparding just all around good.
The sauce was good on the whole but not exceptional. The cheese was also good but not exceptional. Unfortunately buffalo mozz isn't available in the states so not much can be done here. Some light parm might have punched it up a bit but that is objective opinion. I will say I ordered one pie with fresh mozz and it was globbed on top of their base cheese which isn't the best but that might have been a failure in our order not in the cook.
The Italian and Caesar salads were great and larger than expected. Next time we are passing through I will certainly order from here again. There might be better wood fired places in the area but after a half dozen pizzas in the last couple weeks this is...
Read moreSauced is a tiny business right on the corner of Lorain rd in Fairview park! We got a coupon and decided to give it a try! Walking in we were greeted by a friendly staff member, which for me just feels so inviting and made me feel welcome! The building is very small with only 4 tables however I’m sure many people are just taking food to go! Just a heads up. We decided to dine in and there was only one other table of patrons so it made for the coziest experience! We ordered the Italian salad, pretty standard but the ham and pepperoni were absolutely delicious! We decided to go all out and each try a pizza. I went with the pizza Bianca and my fiancé got our favorite pepperoni and banana pepper. So we could share. Food came out quickly and the pizza was great! I love how the crust was actually enjoyable, unlike some pizzas where I find I want to either dip the crust in sauce or just throw it out. The Bianca pizza had the perfect amount of garlic and ricotta cheese, I really enjoyed it! Our other pizza with red sauce and pepperoni and banana pepper was great too! I mentioned before the pepperoni they use has a really great spiced flavor! We finished our meal off with a cannoli to share! The cannoli was pretty standard but good! They had many other treats to...
