Federales Street Tacos — Restaurant in Fairview Park

I reviewed Federales when they first opened and, as you can see below, I was very happy with my experience. I am happy to report that the food is just as delicious today as when they first opened, maybe even better! I always get a vegan taco salad in a tortilla shell: rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, red cabbage, corn, the works! It’s always excellent. This time I also noticed that they carry half-size bottles of Corona beer, Coronita, so I got one of those too. A very excellent light dinner!

I always take pictures of the food I get, but this time I forgot. The vegetable burrito I got looked so good that I just started eating and completely forgot to take the picture. The burrito was DELICIOUS, maybe one of the best I've had! It was full of freshly sautéed vegetable, black beans, and rice and a deliciously tasty sauce. You can buy meat ones as well, but being vegan I only had the vegetables. I will definitely be returning for another burrito and to take some...

Food is very tasty, fresh and generously portioned. Getting 4 stars because there are some improvements to be made. It's a new restaurant so it may take a little bit for them to get on their feet totally. The hood system needs to do a better job of sucking out the cooking smells, it was super strong- not necessarily a bad thing to entice appetites, but there was a haze in the whole restaurant. The music was being played too loudly for a restaurant that has absolutely nothing to help absorb the noise of the sizzling cooking and guys smacking the spatulas on the grill...and nowhere to go to escape the noise. We might have dined in had it been less noisy. Ingredients/toppings are not labeled and the servers making your bowls/tacos can't hear your order over the noise. I think this place does have promise...it just needs some tweaking to make it...

LISTENNNNNN. When I tell you that this place is AMAZING?! I mean it!!!! I had 3 tacos (Tinga chicken) for $10.75 and a fountain drink so $13.75 in total. It was nice and quiet when I walked in but that’s because it was 2:30 in the afternoon. I’m sure this place is jumping in the evenings because they have a bar as well. Very nice. The staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming! The owner calls everyone friend, “amiga” or “amigo” when they walk in. I got to sit in and relax, be on my phone, and eat without feeling like I’m being rushed. The restaurant is a decent sized restaurant too. Many places to sit. The bathroom was sooooo clean. Spotless.
