El Jibarito Puerto Rican Restaurant — Restaurant in Fall River

THE SERVICE:

I was promptly greeted upon entering the restaurant. As a new customer, the friendly employee did an excellent job orienting me to their menu to include their buffet selections, pastries and specialty drinks. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. I felt welcomed and comfortable.

My takeout order was carefully packaged making for easy transport.

THE FOOD:

I ordered a dinner plate consisting of white rice, beans, and steak cooked in a garlic butter sauce. I also had a side order of sweet plantain and a BBQ rib.

Although ashen, the steak was cooked to my desired temperature, traditionally seasoned, and tender- very tasty bite. The rice was cooked perfectly serving as the base for their robust beans bursting with flavor. Plantains tasted as expected. The rib tasted well marinated and the sauce was delicious (tangy with sweet back notes), but it was a bit too firm.

THE VALUE:

Memorable customer service, inviting atmosphere, and good food at an affordable price point. There is something on the menu for every budget; especially if you opt for their $10.00 buffet...

Walking into El Jibarito felt like coming home. As someone who deeply misses the taste of my Puerto Rican roots, this place brought me right back to the island—where food is more than a meal, it’s a celebration of culture and love. I had the Tripleta sandwich and wow—every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly grilled and seasoned just like the ones from the food trucks back home. My wife had the arroz con longaniza y chuleta can-can, and she couldn’t stop raving about it—crispy, juicy, and full of that authentic boricua sazón.

Was greeted by a nice gentleman. I didnt know what all the food was but it all looked delicious. He along with other worker explained to me what each thing was. The owner/chef also helped out. They also, let me try a sample of food. Im assuming she is the owner, was going to give me one of desserts for free to try out because never had it before, but i asked him to put on my bill. I said thank you for taking time to explain some of the foods to me and that I missed my moms cooking. The things I ordered tasted like some of the things my mom used to cook.
