Leddy's — Restaurant in Fall River

We were very disappointed with our recent experience at this bakery. My sister-in-law ordered cupcakes for her baby shower and called to confirm the pickup time for 10:00 AM. The bakery said “well we have a lot of cakes today, can you come at 1?” and agreed.

When she arrived at 12:54, just a few minutes early, she was met with rude comments about being early and was told the cupcakes weren’t ready. They also stated they don’t frost the cupcakes until they are in the boxes. She waited for 20 minutes but had to leave for a 1:30 appointment. Her mother went to pick them up later and was again met with attitude. The staff said they couldn’t open the boxes because they were already sealed, though they briefly showed one box that had a rose design. It looked okay—but definitely not what we expected from a professional bakery.

When we finally opened the boxes at home, we were shocked. The cupcakes were poorly packaged—some boxes were stuffed full, others nearly empty, causing the cupcakes to topple and get ruined in transit. The decorations were sloppy and unprofessional. The frosting looked like it had been done by a child, not a bakery. It was nothing like the quality we were expecting or what was shown in their photos.

This was an important event for our family, and the unprofessionalism, attitude, and lack of care were incredibly disappointing. We would not recommend this bakery and will not be ordering from them again.

After weeks of researching wedding cake bakeries for the best-tasting cake, I chose Leddy’s off a recommendation of a friend who loves their strawberry shortcake. The whole process was as easy and stress-free as any bride could ask. When I ordered the cake, I showed them a picture of a cake I had found online and told them it didn’t have to be exactly like that but along those lines and was told that they would do their best. I picked a 2-tier vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry filling and was surprised how inexpensive the cake was. When I walked into my reception, I was amazed at how beautiful the cake came out. It was perfect! It looked exactly like the picture. When it came time to cut the cake and I took the first bite with my husband, I found out that I had truly made the best choice for our cake. It was one of the best cakes I have ever had in my life, and I feel I am something of a cake connoisseur. Every person at my wedding said the same thing, several people even snuck multiple pieces. The buttercream had amazing flavor, the cake was moist, the raspberries were perfectly tart and crisp for a perfect pairing with the buttery frosting. I messaged thru Facebook to make sure they were not on vacation because normally for my husband birthday they are. No response , so I called on Thursday to make sure they were open, they said yes. I asked if I can put an order and she told me a needed a credit card. I did not have my credit card with me at work so I asked if I can call on Friday morning and she said yes. Now I called Friday morning at 7 am and was told I was not able to get a cake for Sat. Which I needed it after 12:00 pm or so. Which is over 24 hrs in advance. I explained that I talk to the owner of the bakery on Thursday and was told it would be ok and this person refused. If I wanted for Sunday I could have it. I don’t need it for Sunday I need it for Sat. I love there cakes but refuse to buy anymore. I have been going to this bakery for over 40 years and have never been treat this way. The new owner should of remember that she talked to me the day before and remembered what she told me. I know you have a lot of customer but give a break when you speak to someone and they tell you they will call the next day to place the order, why wasn’t I told we are not making cakes for Sat. Or can you call back today with the credit card. I would of made arrangement to get done on Thursday. Bad customer service...
