A friend suggested this place to our group of friends, so we visited this past Sunday. We wanted to try out their early special which was listed from 1:30-3:30. We thought it would be best to make a reservation in case they would be crowded. When we called, we were told they didn’t open till 2 o’clock so we got a 2 o’clock reservation. When we got there, the restaurant was completely empty, but there was a family in there already eating. We were seated and the waitress took her drink water and got us bread to start. We looked over both menus we were given… Everything sounded so amazing but we did settle on some of the specials. We ordered and then my soup came out, which was included with the special. It was quite a generous bowl and boy was it delicious! My friends got their salads and they looked beautiful and delicious as well. We received our entrées and we were all very pleased. I got the stuffed eggplant that came with spaghetti,, another friend got the chicken Parmesan, which was too generous pieces of chicken over top rigatoni, and another friend got tortellini with a white sauce with peas and something else in it. I’m sorry I forget the name of it, but we all took a taste of each each other‘s entrées and they were all pretty amazing. The restaurant itself remained pretty empty. A few other families tricked in. A family got sat next to us and overheard them asking about the special and the waitress told them that it was over. This was at 3 o’clock and one person from the group showed them on their phone that their special was till 330. At this point, the waitress came back with the specials menu, which they were not given at first. At this point, the waitress seemed to get a little flustered. She came over to us and we got boxes for our leftovers and then she was ready to give us the check but did say did you guys want dessert? We answered yes because it came with our special and also hot coffee or tea was supposed to come with our special as well at the end. She promptly told us that there was only two pieces of chocolate cake left, but we had another choice of cannoli or gelato. I didn’t want the chocolate cake, but I thought it was weird that they weren’t even open that long and one of the items that were offered they were almost out of. She took our dessert or hers and left, but didn’t ask about the coffee or tea. My one friend asked if she could have coffee and the waitress sounded agitated and said it’s gonna be a minute I’m gonna have to make it. We also thought that that was strange that it wasn’t already made, but whatever. The coffee never came out and then she did seem to be apologetic about it and said it would be a little bit and my friend just said forget it. I wanted tea, but I didn’t bother asking for it. By the time we left, there was a few more families that came in, but overall they were still over half empty in there. Overall, the food was amazing, but the service could’ve been better. The server was pleasant and did her job, but she seemed to get a little bit agitated and seemed to forget things at the end. Perhaps another server called out because it did seem that she was doing everything herself. Even if you think it might be a slow day, it still helps to have another person on hand to make things run smoothly and take care of unexpected crowds should they arise. We all found the food to be very wonderful and we do want to give them another shot. Hope the service is a little more welcoming next...
Read moreNot sure what’s going on, maybe the chef changed but something is off. The last two times we ate here it wasn’t great. The restaurant is very brightly lit which I’m not a fan of. Not a big deal but atmosphere is big for me when I go out. This I can overlook but the food was very salty and the portions very small. I had a chicken dish that was supppsed to come with sun dried tomatoes. I ordered that because I love them and they didn’t offer a steak other than a ribeye which I don’t eat. It literally had two sun dried tomatoes in it, very disappointing. The martinis are not made as described either. Never a candy or sugared rim as described on the menu. Again, not major but it adds up in the overall experience. Finally, I ordered a drink that called for club soda. We were told they couldn’t serve anything from the soda dispenser because of a water problem. Okay, totally understandable but why wouldn’t you grab a few bottles of club from the store if several of the drinks on your menu call for it? Something is slipping here, this used to be one of our favorites but we probably will not be back. The server was very pleasant and apologetic. I overheard him apologizing to tables nearby for other issues they were having. Hopefully the management notices and makes the...
