I feel bad rating them so low after only one experience there, but after this experience, I feel... BAD about returning! Let me explain. I work until midnight. Sometimes I forget to pack a lunch, and at the end of my shift I'm starving. The goose flys though the night, so I go to Wawa (fun fact, that's why there's a goose on their logo). I get there, and walking through the door, the looks start. The accusing looks like I committed some sin by walking into the wrong neighborhood. I order a sandwich from an extremely angry attendant, and with reservation, asked for a special order. I just like a couple extra jalapeños, but you would have thought that the guy had to pay for them himself with the way he sighed and spat "fine." Checking out was just as bad. It was as if I was taking the woman away from the most dramatic part of her favorite TV show instead of stopping her from stocking Sun Chips. I've worked overnights, I've spent the majority of my life working service jobs. Neither are easy and together must be particularly hellish. But geeze, don't take it out on me! I'm not the cause of your agony, just a...
Read moreTry walking out of that store without single use plastics. You've got try pretty hard. The staff is dedicated to plastic waste.
I tried to order a smoothie and have them pour it into a paper cup. They kept saying it would be "cross contamination", whatever that is.. They just wouldn't do it and instead put it into plastic while I was paying.
I left the drink there.
I've been going to Wawa's in NJ and PA almost every day for about 6 months. For the past 2 months I've been trying to avoid single use plastics. Mostly its worked and mostly my smoothie can come in a paper cup.
However this store has finally steadfastly refused. They claim its corporate policy to use plastic.
Wawa's policy is to fill up landfills with non-decomposing waste and pollute the oceans. That's their policy to avoid something they call "cross-contamination"
I don't need Wawa enough to pollute the Earth for 500 years with a...
Read moreThe cashiers in the evening at this location are the most unprofessional and rude and obnoxious I have ever dealt with ever at any wawa. I was minding my own business and when I got to ringing out my items, self checkout wouldn't accept my coupon and then I had to wait in a ridiculous line. Once I got to the cashier, I tapped my card to pay, and as soon as I lifted my card off the card reader, both cashiers started laughing hysterically at me for mo reason. I am recovering from a broken foot I have a limp. Oh well. I had layers on. I'm white. I felt discriminated against. I went out to my car and the one cashier was still eyeing me like I had 3 heads. I tried calling to get manager but 3 times kept going to hang up. This is UTTERLY OFFENSIVE AND THESE EMPLOYEES...
