We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it. Two orders are $43.00 and large portions. More than we can usually eat and we usually end up taking half of it home. They always give us large plastic containers for take home.
We ordered Mojeta as take out a few nights ago. We got home and they had put it in foil containers with cardboard tops that leaked the sauce from both of them all over the bag all over everything. All the sauce was gone from the usually very saucy dish. I ordered mine without green peppers, they both had alot of peppers. Very little shrimp or beef in either. I called them so they could fix it. They told us to come back in.
When we went back they accused my boyfriend of dropping it. We didnt drop it. They took the bag in the back and brought it back out. Again arguing that it was dropped. When he got home All they had done was poured the same contents into small plastic containers. Mine still had green peppers. I called again. And again we were accused of dropping it and they would not reimburse us. I asked to speak to the owner or manager. I was told to call the next day and speak to Salvador. The next day ,they told me he wasn't there. Call back next day On the 3rd day I finally spoke to him and he was the one I spoke to the first day. He again tried to tell me we dropped it. I told him look. Were in our 50s were honest people not trying to scam anyone. Your accusing us of something that is your fault. This is unacceptable. Then he told me he would not reimburse us but if we ask for him when we eat there again he would give us a discount!!...

They, like many others in the service industry, were shorthanded the evening we visited but that did not stop them from taking care of us and giving us hot delicious food! There were 3 people who all checked on us and reassured us that they would work hard to get us served as soon as possible. I saw 2 or 3 of them nearly running to keep up, but all with smiles on their faces.
Food was excellent! We ordered the "molcajete" named after the stone mortar the dish is served in. Let me tell you, we've tried MANY variations of the same dish and NOT ONE tastes as good as theirs! (This coming from a Hispanic family! 😉) It is bubbly hot, fresh ingredients, and served with the works (hot tortillas, rice, beans, salad, pico de gallo, fresh avocados.) My son had the trio fajitas that are also delicious and his favorite! My daughter's kids meal was also fresh and hot! They were great at warning her about the hot plate.
No drinks ordered as we were parched and just needed water to hydrate! All-around I would say we were all pleased. (Even the child who pouted that he wasn't getting a cheeseburger.) Over the dozens of times we've eaten at Gran Plaza, it has yet...
Read moreBeing hungry travelers we wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant and this sounded good from all of the reviews we read. As we arrived at the location, we had no idea what door to go in due to the multiple entrances. Our hostes seated us promptly with our menus and then not even 2 minutes later the waitress asked if we were ready to order. We kindly said not yet. When she eventually came back to take our order, she was a bit of a sasafras. I asked for a side of rice with my order and she remarked in a sassy tone that it already came with the meal. We received our food and it was pretty standard. Nothing "to die for." I had ordered a chicken enchilada meal and the first bite I took was beef, but the rest was chicken. Kind of through me off. The waitress only came by once to see if everything was okay. We had run out of salsa for our chips but were hesitant to ask for more due to her sassiness. On a good note, the prices were decent, the chips did come to the table fresh and warm and the place was clean. Needless to say, we will not be back again....
