We love to support local business, especially restaurants. I'll start with the could use improvement part of this review and then finish strong with the what went well. We showed up at 6pm. There were 3 other groups waiting. We did not make reservations as we were unsure how big our group was going to be until about an hour before we arrived, that I'm sure played a factor, but our observations are still worth noting. The groups ahead of us were seated within the first five minutes of us arriving. Several other groups came in behind us, all of them 2, 3, and 4 tops, none with reservations from what I heard when they spoke to the hostess. Apparently our 5 top was the problem as we waited almost an hour. One couple that arrived after us was seated and left with their "to go" boxes before they were able to find us a table. One interesting observation was there were three, six top tables completely empty in the bar area the entire time. We did not leave the restaurant till almost 9pm, and still nobody was ever seated there. Not sure what was special about those tables.
We were excited about the Prime Rib they advertised on their website, but were told they no longer serve it, and that they haven't in some time. They should really consider taking that off of their menu online. I ordered the 16oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and a wedge salad. The salad was okay, but the dressing to lettuce ratio was a bit off, seemed like I was eating plain lettuce most of the time. The mashed potatoes were pretty standard and lacked seasoning, but not terrible. The steak was embarrassing. For $38 I would expect a ribeye to be more than a quarter inch thick, but man this thing was thin! Also ordered mid rare, and due to how thin it was would say it was more of a medium cook. My wife's salmon was a bit over but still tasted pretty good, and she loved the brussel sprouts.
The one redeeming element of this dinner was our server. I believe her name was Alana and she was great! She was clearly very busy throughout the service but still made sure to check in with us on a regular basis. She had a table behind us that were really giving her a hard time but she was still very friendly and catered to our needs in a very polite and upbeat manner. As disappointed as we were with getting seated and some of the food, Alana assured that we will be back again soon to give it another shot. I will likely stick to a burger or handheld next time around, or maybe even give their pasta a try. Good service will always win us over, even with a little room for improvement elsewhere. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to come here for my grandma's 70th birthday, for her favorite item on the menu called "Bread pudding." Turns out they changed the menu on the same shift we had made a reservation at, with no practice of the new menu whatsoever. This happened to be a Friday night, so it was extremely busy. They gave us no notice when we called in for are reservation, they also failed at giving any notice on the online website. They then proceeded to take over 20 minutes to take are order. We also had to wait over an hour for are orders to arrive, and despite only being a party of six, and being there for a reservation, even then, one of the six meals did not arrive. We waited around 30 minutes, and eventually it came, but by then, most of my other family members, including me were already almost done with are meals. The waitress apologized and delivered it for free, along with offering the owner of the meal, my sister, a free desert. We believe this to be due to the fact that they forgot the meal, and then rushed the meal in an attempt to apolgize. The meal, was a simple sandwich with meat and cheese, with a side of fries. My sister immediately began eating her meal, as she had been waiting for a long time now, and was fairly hungry. She then noticed, her sandwhich was dripping and raw, due to being uncooked. My grandpa, immediately contacted the nearest staff member about it. After yet another 20 minutes, the manager showed up, and took her meal, saying they were sorry and would re-make the meal. He also lied, saying he would take even more meals off the bill, which was later forgotten about. After about 10-20 minutes, the re-creation of the meal was brought to us. We had noticed, her French fries were swapped out with chips, some of which were soggy. At this point we were tired and just wanted to leave, so we chose to ignore this. She ate, and decided to use the free desert she was granted. She asked for cheese cake, and after about 10 minutes, another waitress arrived and gave her carrot cake, telling her they were out, despite my grandma saying she had seen two other tables recive it. We decided to remain calm, and ignore this issue as well. Some things to note alongside of this was the fact that, all of are potatoes (Except one,) were cold, along with some of the sandwiches. The meat was stacked on-top of the potatoes. Also, the drink me and my sister received, tasted nothing as was advertised, and we believe it to have been made wrong, either way, it tasted horrible. This was a horrible experience, and me and my family agreed to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a reservation at the end of the dinner shift AND we were late. They graciously sat us to a table and informed us about how fortunate we were to be seated. And how everyone working had also worked their newer brunch shift, so they were all wanting to be done with the evening. I absolutely understood and we tried to place quick meals that wouldn't cause the kitchen too much trouble. Our server was truly great, even after working such a long hard day, as I do hope was reflected in the tip. The food was beautiful, as we were all eating our first meal of the day. Yes, we also know about hard days. I decided to snap some photos because I had planned to give a stellar review if nothing else, just to boost staff morale, but there was one issue that I can't let pass by and unfortunately that was with a request for no coleslaw on the BBQ pork sandwich. I explained to the server that I cannot digest it. I told her, "I wish I could. I can't digest it at all." I also ordered a side of mac and cheese because I can't digest potatoes or sweet potatoes. I didn't feel that I needed to go into detail, just stated that it's a dietary restriction and figured my husband would enjoy the sweet potato waffle fries in my stead. Now, I know that I should have said something at the time, but they had had such a long day, I absolutely did not want to add to it by complaining, but the kitchen put cole slaw on and scraped it off, doing a poor job at removing it. I have a medical condition. I can't eat cole slaw because I have a malfunctioning colostomy. I did not think that I needed to divulge this in order to keep from having food served to me like this. I debated on saying anything, even after realizing that it wasn't just a few stray pieces that someone can reasonably expect to find if some just accidentally dropped on the sandwich. I had planned to just clean it up at home where the staff wouldn't see and they wouldn't feel like they needed to go through more bother on my part. Shoot, I almost didn't say anything when they forgot my mac and cheese, but I just wanted to make sure we weren't charged for it if we didn't receive it.
After taking the remainder of the sandwich apart I realized just how much cole slaw they left behind and sadly, gave it to my dogs. I've been through way too many years of agony to want to deal with any more over some soggy cabbage š¤£.
My husband and daughter both enjoyed their food very much!
Again, we apologize for our tardiness for our reservation and do appreciate that you still served us....
