Charlie’s old fashioned hamburgers in Farmersville, TX gets a 10/10 rating for the cutest restaurant set up! Good fried mushrooms, fried jalepenos & corn nuggets as an appetizer with that good good restaurant ranch hit the spot! I’ll give the burger a 7/10 as a good mushroom Swiss burger! Update four years later: They have had a renovation or something since I've been here, as seen from newer photos. The burgers were pretty good, but not as I remembered them. My kids loved their kids meals though. My oldest ate all his Mac and cheese, I tried some though but it lacked flavor. A little bland without much salt. The mushrooms in my burger were good but unfortunately they didn't carry steak sauce which would've been ideal in a mushroom swiss burger for me. My boyfriend got the burger with the egg inside and he said two patties inside made it uneven and dry once he was nearly done with the burger. If it only had one patty, it would have been perfect. It made it hard to really taste the egg. The German chocolate pie was okay, but a little chewy in texture and a little too sweet. It had a faint taste of coconut. The atmosphere was a little newer than I remembered, which didn't feel as "homey" as before. The antique items felt forced instead of the mom and pop shop it used to be. I did appreciate they still had homemade handmade items available though. The fries were delicious though! I'll give them credit for that. Also they were not entirely kid friendly, due to lack of crayons/coloring pages for the kids when asked, however I saw a box of crayons in the front booth as I was leaving to my car... Overall unfortunately my five star rating went to a four. It's nice here but it's lost it's oldy but goody feel it used to have. _________________________________________ I normally don't give 5 stars right off the bat, but I had saved this place for awhile now and my friend came here without that knowledge. It was a little over 10:30 which is when they stop serving breakfast, but they allowed me to order a breakfast plate anyway. Very good food. Everything was hot, nothing lukewarm. The eggs were cooked well. The gravy was hot, and i didn't need any extra dipping sauce for any of it. My friend ordered a burger and fries. I had nothing to complain. He let me try the patty. Wow ! A lot of flavor ! I would have ordered one if i wasn't so full ! My fried turkey slice was smokey and delicious. The only complaint i may have to give, was the "taters" were a little on the salty side. But that's just me not really caring for salt. Overall great experience, cozy comfy atmosphere, friendly staff, bathrooms were clean, and i loved all the old signs on the wall. They also have a small gift shop across the room with souvenirs and other small gifts. And they serve fresh baked pies. Definitely recommend !

Went here on a Friday night have never heard of this cute little place. The dinner rush had not yet began...Walked in got seated immediately. Waitress Hailey, (I believe) was at our table the moment we sat. We had 3, 1/2 n half teas w/lemons. Super fresh Tea, it was nice & strong the lemons were awesome, not dried out like most places. We ordered Fried Pickle appetizer, it was so good🤤 we could have made a meal out of that alone. Ummm...but NO, we had main meal of 2 CFS 1 CFC, 2 fried okra, 1 mashed potatoes, 1 sweet potatoe fries & my daughter wanted mac n cheese so we got that too! Let me say this, I never eat mac n cheese bc it taste like Elmers glue, so its not my fave side dish, but when it came to our table I took a bite & ohhhh man it was ahhmazing! In fact, so good we ordered another one🤭. We normally have left overs but tonight there wasn't anyone in my family that took home left overs bc we polished our plates! All. Of. It 😬 Seriously, that good yall! We probly won't eat for 2 days but, if we do this just might be our next meal again! 🥰 I'm for sure getting that buttermilk coconut cream pie, and a pecan to have for later. This place is not only a chill comfy casual setting, but the waitstaff is hopping & popping out piping hot home cooked goodness. Yall go eat,...

One of the worst experiences of poor customer service. I ordered a brownie fudge sundae online that was all I wanted. I get my confirmation email and so I head up to the restaurant. I get to the restaurant and I’m told by the front desk they don’t have an order with my name and told to go to the bar so I stand at the bar for five minutes and then this lady finally help me because she was so busy with her bar top tables and she says no she doesn’t have an order for me. I need to go out the front so I leave go outside and look at my confirmation email I called the number on the bottom of the email and it’s of course I got the right one and the guy tells me well. Oh did you order it online? Oh for Kimberly Dawn yeah that’s why I was just in there and you didn’t have it five minutes ago when I was just in there he said oh well we don’t have any brownies. Is it OK waters can I get a soda brownie? She said well I don’t know what you want. I said I want color then he said well we don’t have poplar either, so I drove all the way up here for nothing I don’t live next-door so the manager gets on the phone and tells me well. We can try to refund your money and it might be there in like 24 hours and it might not maybe I will maybe it won’t I don’t know and then hangs...
