We came here based on flyers in a local international grocery store, which listed that there were 35+ options, and 5+ seafood/lamb/goat options available every weeknight. When we got here we were very disappointed to find no seafood, and only 1 goat and 1 mutton dish among approximately 20 dishes including rice and Naan. When I asked about it I was told that was only for the opening week and on weekends, but they are still handing out the flyers at the local stores, which makes it very misleading. That said, the food was very delicious! There were about half a dozen different biriyanis, and a similar number of saucy dishes, with rice and naan, as well as tandoori chicken, chicken pakora, a couple of vegetable pakoras, samosas, and a couple of sweet desserts. Some juices were also included. The taste of the food was excellent, and while there was a bit of a kick to a couple of them, nothing was super spicy, just very flavorful. The staff were very friendly, but no one took our used plates away until the end of the meal, despite them coming over to ask how the food was, leading to a bit of a messy pile up at the edge of the table that we tried to stack as best we could. We also waited at the end and no one brought us the check, despite having bussed and wiped down our table. We finally got up, concluding that we had to go to the front and maybe get rung out there, when a man who we had seen walk by once and ask how we liked it came up to us and ask if we had paid yet, pulled out his phone, and said we could pay there, standing up in the middle of the aisle. Not at the counter, not on a register, it made me a little worried that he may not even work there! The atmosphere was fairly friendly, but the buffet goes right down the aisle between the booths. There is plenty of space to move around, no one was bumping into the table or anything, but it gives an awkward vibe, usually buffets have the food space off to the side, separated from the eating areas. It lead to lots of people walking back and forth next to us, and kids running around a bit in the walkway. All in all, the food was worth considering coming back for, but the price point is a bit high compared to other buffets with similar quantities of options and presentation level. The uniqueness of being a buffet of Indian food that happens all day every day may give a certain leeway to setting their price bracket higher, but they need to up the service quite a bit to compete with the other restaurants that offer occasional buffets and charge...
Read moreGreat Goat Dum Biryani, Terrible Buffet & Concerning Service
My experience at the dinner buffet was extremely frustrating and I do not recommend it, despite one single bright spot. The only item I can genuinely praise is the Goat Dum Biryani, which was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly a signature dish. If the whole menu met this standard, this review would be very different. Unfortunately, the rest of the buffet was a disaster. Not only were several promised items not stocked, but the available dishes were of shockingly poor quality. I tried multiple curries and sides that were bland and lacked fundamental seasoning like salt. When I raised this concern, the receptionist offered a confusing justification, stating the food was deliberately less salty for non-spicy eaters, and that we could add salt and pepper ourselves.
This is a very poor practice for a professional buffet where the food should be seasoned correctly before serving. It made the experience feel cheap and laborious. A highly concerning incident involved the Talawa Gosht. When I asked about this dish, the receptionist confirmed he, and not the main chef, had prepared it. This revelation of inconsistent food preparation by untrained staff severely undermines trust in the quality and safety standards.
Considering the high price point and the poor quality and availability of most dishes, I felt completely ripped off. The lack of standard seasoning, the missing items, and the revelation about who was preparing the food made this a highly unsatisfactory dinner. (Note: I also felt significantly unwell shortly after consuming the food items here, which further compounds my disappointment in the...
Read moreA Culinary Gem with a Personal Touch – Thanks to Fareed!*
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Indian restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the best culinary experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home — and that spirit clearly starts from the top, with the owner, Fareed.
Fareed is not only passionate about food, but also about making sure every guest has a memorable experience. He personally came over to check on us during the meal, shared stories behind some of the dishes, and made sure everything was perfect — and it truly was. It's rare to see that level of personal care these days, and it made all the difference.
As for the food: absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor — from the perfectly spiced biryani to the flavorful curries and freshly prepared appetizers, you can tell that each recipe has been crafted with love and expertise. The naan was fresh and fluffy, and the chutneys added the perfect kick to every bite.
The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and full of character — just like Fareed himself. It’s clear that this isn’t just a restaurant to him — it’s a labor of love, and that passion is reflected in every detail.
Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, do yourself a favor and visit this place. And if you get a chance to meet Fareed — even better. You'll leave with a full stomach and a big...
