5/5/24 - The comments made by the owner in response are not factual. My son-in-law was offered one brownie when he came in - not the full order. He shouldn't have had to come in anyway - the owner refused to come out when my daughter and her toddler were initially there and blew her off. They were shown repeatedly that the charge went through on my daughter's card. The response makes it sound like they tried so hard to make it right, but that is not what happened. I hope that my daughter and son-in-law do come get their money back, because the charge went through, and, because it was a debit, cannot be disputed. Own your mistakes.
From my daughter: Went into with my toddler and ordered cookies. I paid for them, but they said my card was declined, and I needed to repay with a different card, even though I showed them that the charges went through on my end. The manager refused to come up and assist and just kept telling me to repay and dispute it. I ended up leaving without my cookies because I didn't want to argue in front of my son. My husband went back to talk to the owner later, and they still refused to honor the order, even though he again showed them we were charged. They said it was a problem with their third-party vendor, Go Daddy. How is this my fault. There are no cookies for us and a lost customer for them. They were right by my work, and I went there regularly. I will...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place but I was really let down. I went in hoping to get a donut as it is National Donut Day today but it's not something they make. I purchased one of the cinnamon donut bars figuring it would be somewhat close but it was super dry, crumbly and didn't have much flavor. It didn't taste like a donut or like coffeecake it was just bland. I was starving so I ate it but I wouldn't recommend it. I also purchased the almond poppy seed cake/loaf (I'm not sure what is officially named.) This was also disappointing, it had a sticker saying it was from Tuesday. I know not everything would be baked same day or day before but I wasn't intending to eat it right away and it would not last through the weekend. I opened it today, same story, it's dry. I'm hoping it was just an off day/ I picked the wrong things to try.
I will say they had bread baking and it smelled delicious. If I try this place again, I would stick to the breads and skip the baked goods. The person who helped me check out...
Read moreNever in my life have I had a business go so above and beyond with customer service. I had placed an order online for cardamom coffee cake and made the trip from Ann Arbor so I could bring it to a work potluck because it’s the only place I know of to get this coffee cake that is just like my Swedish grandmother used to make. Turned out something went wrong with their system and they never saw my order. I figured I would get a refund and have to figure something else out for the potluck but after hearing my story the owner offered to HAND DELIVER IT TO MY OFFICE IN ANN ARBOR the next morning in time for the potluck. AND she threw in a free cookie and 2 loaves of bread on top, one of which was Swedish limpa bread which was so thoughtful since I had mentioned my family being Swedish and going there for Swedish baked goods. I was just floored. And of course everything was delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could be a more...
