This review is based on multiple visits at this establishment and worth the read if you are a vegetarian. Not sure if they lied to us in the past about dishes being vegetarian while serving it to us or simply did not want us there. We have been to this establishment in the past and have ordered food and dishes that were customized to be vegetarian. Our last visit they were extremely busy and first were told to wait 30 minutes and then after sitting down, had to wait another 20 minutes before placing our food order. This was to be expected as it was busy. The order was also taken by one of the younger family member of the staff as most of the other staff team were busy. I advised her to ensure that these dishes are to be vegetarian. She did her due diligence to go back to the kitchen only to say the dishes were pre-made and not vegetarian and has oyster sauce. I asked her if the dish can be made with out it and she proceeded to ask the owner who was bringing out the dishes and he was very irritated and said no. We were given no other option but to cancel our dinner and go somewhere else. I understand that not all restaurants are vegetarian friendly but don't lie to guests if dishes are not vegetarian. We decided to go to the elephant trail in avon and the photo is of the food we had there.

WARNING FALSE ADVERTISING: I attempted to get takeout with these guys today along with my co-worker. As we both are on shift we decided to split the Sushi Couple which the google menu showed as costing $13 (see attached screenshot). When I showed up to pick up my food for my meal break I was told the Sushi couple costs $20, which is basically 150% the advertised price. I showed the hostess the menu item online, how I reached it, and told her that I was only prepared to pay $13 for the item given that was the advertised amount when I made my order and as I was splitting the cost with a coworker. After wasting about 15 minutes of my time deliberating over the price and calling the owner they made the unbelievable decision to not honor their advertised price. Long story short: whoever owns this business is a scrooge who values neither his customers time nor is willing to honor his posted prices. Take your business literally anywhere else.

We had a business meeting here tonight. First time for most of us. I was blown away by gorgeous tree out front in full fall bloom. The place is modern looking and beautifully decorated. The food was average. Menu has several different Asian cuisine with sushi being the most prominent. Service was fine. It’s not the place for a meeting since the noise level was very high. My test of a good Chinese restaurant is the shrimp with lobster sauce. Most restaurants serve it with an egg white sauce which I do not like. It should be served with ground pork and lots of black spicy Asian beans. I was told it came with a dark sauce with chicken. Unfortunately there just bits of chicken in a very saucy bland sauce. No black beans.

We've been coming to this place for years--even before their split with Meadow Asian Cuisine in Simsbury--and it's never disappointing. I can hardly wait to sit down before ordering one of their perfect mandarin orange martinis. In fact I'd kill for one now as I write this review! The gyoza apps are tasty little pillows of deliciousness, the sizzling rice soup with chicken--while not sizzling. unfortunately--is still so good I always order it anyway. The chicken is perfectly "velveted", that Chinese technique of marinating chicken in cornstarch and other ingredients which gives it that super-tender and savory slippery texture. Love the Yuen Yang Spicy Beef, tender with just the right amount of spicy on a bed of perfectly cooked and crisp green beans. I always order mine with sticky rice although it doesn't come with it. Their fried rice is fluffy and delightful, the seasonal veggies (usually bok choy) perfectly done with generous slices of not-overwhelming slices of garlic in a smooth broth-based sauce. On our last visit, partner ordered the sizzling seafood (which IS plated, sizzling, at the table); scallops and shrimp were done just right, super tender and flavorful with the snow peas and carrots crisp and fresh-tasting. Service is always friendly and top notch. After I asked about Bamboo's specific velveting technique, the owner even came to our table to give...

This place is hit or miss, but lately been missing more often. Salmon roll had an odor and a smell the last few times. The last time they also messed up my order and got mad at me and said it was my fault.

I like my soy sauce when it comes to sushi but they max out at 2 packs per roll. If you ask for extra they tell you they already put a lot and get angry.

UPDATE - with the lack of sushi options in Farmington I tried this place once again and again THEY MESSED UP MY ORDER and WHEN I CALLED THEM TO LET THEM KNOW THEY YELLED AT EACH OTHER IN BACK BUT OFFERED ME NOTHING, NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY. ONCE AGAIN I ASKED FOR EXTRA SOY SAUCE AND I GOT YELLED AT.

Last but not least, as a business or business owner you should appreciate your customers because they are paying you for a product / service. This establishment does not as much as say thank you after you pay them. Time to take my money to someone that appreciates it and gives me an extra soy sauce packet. (PS if I was eating in, I could drink the soy sauce if I wanted to, so why so mad about some extra soy...
