Ordered $45 plus tip take-out from Mama Khang this evening. Arrived home with very disappointing dishes that had absolutely no flavor at all. They were absolutely awful. Beef with garlic sauce with beef that was tough and chewy with no sauce; Wonton soup with a mushy layer of disintegrated pasta on the bottom of the container; Mel Fun ( angel hair pasta ) with chicken that was all together dry and had no seasoning or flavor at all; egg rolls which fell apart.
Immediately telephoned Mama Khang and spoke with female manager. I told her our concerns regarding the food we picked up and how disappointed we were with the flavor and quality. The manager proceeded to tell me, for example with the Beef with Broccoli, that some customers have complained in the past that she makes it too salty and at other times with not enough flavor ( our complaint ). Also mentioned that with the Wonton Soup when you order it as a take-out item, the noodle wontons sometimes fall apart and become mushy by the time you get it home ( Should we not order their Wonton soup then if it is for take-out????) Now, I have had the type of paper thin wonton she describes yet have never had this problem at other restaurants. My husband ate the Sweet and Sour chicken yet agreed the other dishes were flavorless.
I requested a partial refund for our order due to our experience yet the manager, who also informed me that she herself had cooked our selections, continued to argue with me and defend the meal and its preparation. She was unapologetic, rude and obviously not concerned with customer satisfaction. Very disappointed, to say the least, and will never be returning as they do not deserve...
Read moreOrdered the rare beef Pho for take-out from this place for the first time. Normally about 5 minutes into my drive, I can smell the broth from the place I normally go to, but this place had no smell at all in my 15 minute drive home which tells me the broth is probably not the greatest but no big deal. I got home and opened the bag to find that the beef they had given me was A-still frozen B-had green patches of rot throughout the meat and C-had a horrible rotten smell to it. At this point I decided to just eat it without the meat. Sure enough the broth had little to no flavor and was lacking of vegtables. I order Pho from two different places at-least 4 times a week and both were closed tonite so I decided to try this place out. Their pricing was also pretty high. I usually pay around $10-$12 at the other places I go and they carged me $17 here. Their portions are also on...
Read moreI can't speak to authenticity, but this was the best service and tastiest meal I've had in a very long time.
We ordered takeaway about 30 minutes before close - ready in 15 minutes, and still perfectly hot and crispy after a 15 min drive home.
The scallion pancakes with the sauce it's served with is literally perfect - sweet, sour, savory, crispy - a strong contender for my new favorite appetizer ever. Even though the crispy pork rolls were also the best ones I've ever had!
The chicken, beef, and shrimp were ultra-tender and flavorful, and the portions were a very good size. We ordered two appetizers and two mains and still have leftovers for tomorrow.
Definitely coming back as much as I can, and definitely telling my friends and family...
