My mom and I tried this place out. It had been open for a few months by the time we tried it. It was a Saturday later afternoon closer to dinner time, hardly anyone there like maybe three tables full of people. (That should have been a big red flag). I dont remember the date exactly but it was during late summer/early fall. We were seated at a large round table that could easily sit 8 to 10 people and there were plenty of smaller tables for just us two. Why the waitress sat us there was kinda strange, but we went with it. She took our drink order and took forever bringing the drinks to us and to take our order. We kept waiting for the waitress to come back, my mom finally got tired of waiting and went up to the bar and had someone tell the waitress we were ready to order. My mom got the salad bar and both of us ordered the open face beef. She said the salad bar we decent. The open face beef was like trying to chew on a thick rubber band. I kept choking because it was so hard to chew up enough to swallow it. The mashed potatoes were very bland. The best part about my meal was the tiny little cup of green beans and that's not saying much. It wasn't anything to brag about. I had high expectations for this but it fell very short. Unfortunately, I will never have another meal there again. I, more than likely, will never step foot in there again. My mom and I seriously considered going to another restaurant as soon as we left there because we were still hungry. It was that bad. The waitress asked if we wanted to go boxes because there was so much food left on the plate. I usually give places a second chance but I don't think I can on this one.
I also overheard the people sitting across from us discussing how terrible their food was also. They left a table full of uneaten...
Read moreI had posted just an 'ok" post from our 1st visit and stated we would be back and give it a second try and repost if necessary. We have been back 3 more times and I must edit my post add some stars. They have a very good salad bar which Fgtn really needed. The potato salad on it was refreshingly different and good. Broccoli salad was good and obviously freshly made. The mixed greens and many choices to add was great. (only minor complaint was I like my onions chopped but they were sliced thin and nice so I survived). And perfect homemade croutons. The best original items we tasted was the outstanding maple pork chop meal, the potato skins, the chicken BBQ pizza, fried cheese curds which were large chunks and surprisingly good, bone-in moonshine wings. The burgers are all good and are from locally sourced farm-raised beef. My previous "just ok" from the 1st visit was because The roast beef au jus and huey steak and cheese was made with roast beef lunch meat and the au jus was bland, I don't know if they switched up to a homemade roast beef but I think if they did they would be good . The one thing I really didn't like was the famous fries with truffle oil, they were just extra oily, salty fries. I have had two cocktails, the monkey tail and cool beans and both were great but a little pricey for a high ball size glass. The atmosphere was always nice, spacey and relaxing. There are games, pool, etc. Prices are a little high on some appetizers and sandwiches but if your wanting the best filler for the price the potatoes skins and the maple pork chop dinner and you will be happy. Overall, Definitely will...
Read moreHeaded north on Hwy 67 and decided to stop at Brother Pub and Grub for a bite and a beer. It sits off the road just a little bit but offers big flavor once you get there. They have a huge indoor sitting area plus a nice deck for outdoor dining. Inside you have the bar area with high top tables to the left and low top tables with slot machines, pool tables, and several tv's on the wall to the right. This is also the area that the band plays. The menu is not overwhelming and offers a good variety of items. Their current special was bbq pulled pork (sandwich, nachos, etc). We opted to order the Roast beef sandwich with au jus and the Ham and Cheese sandwich on garlic bread. Both sandwiches were served with perfectly cooked fries and a pickle slice. The au jus with the roast beef was the chef's kiss. Such a beautiful dance of flavors! The Ham and Cheese popped with the garlic bread. We tried the Snapper IPA out of Logboat, which was not too hoppy and paired well with the sandwiches. The prices for everything was very reasonable! If you are in the area, or passing through, be sure to stop here and show this...
