I had really hoped that this would be an amazing find, as it's close to the house and being right on the pond is beautiful for the summer. I'm not saying we would not go back, as the flavors were spot on, but it won't be our go to unless they change a few things. First thing, we had our pick of tables on the patio and our server was fantastic. Attentive, personable, absolutely wonderful. The view is beautiful and we weren't chewed alive by mosquitoes. Best part of the night was certainly our server, followed by the view. However, the patio could use with a refresh, and the parking lot needs a do-over. There was just a bit of oomph that was missing just parking and walking up. I didn't see much of the interior, but my guess would be that it was missing that extra oomph as well. Much of our dinner was missing that oomph. I had the penne pesto and my husband had the steak. The flavors were right on. Unfortunately the texture wasn't quite there. My husband's steak, while very large, wasn't the best cut of beef. It was gristly and fatty. It was deliciously designed, and a perfect medium rare so the chef got that right, but just didn't have the best quality to work with. My penne should have been taken out of the pasta water earlier as by the time it got to me, the continued cooking in the sauce made it a bit mushy and not fork tender. The pesto though, was delicious, even if it was missing pine nuts and a bit heavy on the olive oil compared to the cheese ratio. The salads were pre prepped, so the onions and tomatoes were wilted, but the made in house salad dressing of Parmesan peppercorn was perfect. The complimentary bread was warm and crusty and paired will with the pesto. All in all, it was Ok. Extra points for the location and the service. But I wouldn't...

We went here for Valentines day this year and while the staff was very nice, it was a bit rough of an experience.

Our drinks and apps took a very long time to get to us. We were having a great evening so truly did not mind, but it was a significant wait. When we got the apps, they were very underwhelming. The mozzarella sticks were tossed on the plate with a single mozzarella stick on top of a single piece of lettuce and the rest just scattered - weird thing to notice but I had never experienced such a mess of mozzarella sticks before lol! It was also weird because the piece of lettuce just because soggy and warm. The marinara sauce was splattered up the serving bowl. All in all they were average and edible but they looked really rough and I expected them to taste worse based on this.

The Cesar salad had almost no dressing at all, the one bite I had with dressing was good but the rest was dry lettuce with dry parmesan crumbles (not my preferred parm type for a restaurant salad).

We had been siting in the restaurant for 2 hours at this point so we decided to get our entree's to go and grab dessert from the store on the way home. My alfredo was average and tasted a little funny, and my fiance's entree was one note but good.

I hope this restaurant improves and we can return when there is a better sample size of reviews but as of right now we would not return or recommend.

Again though,...

Don’t bother! Drive right by.. wood and tap around the corner has an even more prettier view. They actually take care of their grounds. Not only was our service slow, we were seated outside on their deck that is gross! Weeds growing into the deck, windows are filthy. Just take a look around. Trash all over the driveway. Soda cans, ciggerettes, packs of cigerettes all over the parking lot. I mean take a look at the parking lot DO YOU SEE THE GIANT HOLES??? This place is a freaken dump!!!! The waiter and waitresses are slow as hell, they move so slow. We waited 15 mins for someone to even bring us a menu!!! The food was 6 out of 10. They just need a lot of work. Better and faster service, clean up your grounds, do something with that parking lot. Get the weeds from growing in your deck and why isn’t the owner here, most businesses that run good and smooth are when the owners here on site. Checking in on people I saw no owner. No manager no nothing!!! Do BETTER pesto’s!!! Will not be back, would rather eat at wood and tap or at the...

Went here after craving for some pesto dishes. You would assume by the name that it would have more dishes around the pesto sauce but there were only a few. However, we did check the menu so we were aware of the food they were serving. Service was slow. They got us the house bread after 15 mins of placing the order. Couldn’t enjoy the bread as it was served with the appetizer.Food was fine. Also we did ask for a table by the lake and they said they were reserved but no one came till the time we were there but when someone else asked there were seated. Also no one came around asking if the food was good after they served and we had to go to the counter to get bill cleared. Chicken quesadillas-5/5 ( tasted really good) Penne pesto -5/5( i wanted with veggie for which i was charged 5$ it was good. Just pricy) Pasta Puttanesca -3/5( sauce was really watery and was supposed to come with spicy marinara but it was normal one only) House salad with balsamic vinaigrette- 5/5( it was the house dressing and came out good)

My husband & I ordered takeout from recently-opened Cafe Pesto this afternoon. Everything was outstanding! I ordered chicken & eggplant parmigiana (fabulous); my husband loved the chicken parmigiana. Each of our meals tasted fresh, delicious, and portions were plentiful. The just-out-of-the-oven rolls (we received 2 each) were fabulous & accompanied with butter and their divine pesto. Bruno assisted us at the front desk - super nice person. I spoke with the owner, Paul, a very nice person who should have great success with this gem in Farmington.

I'm so happy this little neighborhood restaurant exists. Try to visit when it's warm out so you can eat outside with a river view, or come any time because the vibes are immaculate. Good music - not too loud. The staff is wonderful - Precious has been my server 3 times. She's attentive & charming. AJ at the bar will suggest a delicious wine pairing.. The prices are extremely fair for the portion size... And the quality! So delicious. Whatever you decide on, definitely dip your bread in their homeade pesto. 🤌🏻 Thanks for curing my hangover, guys!
