It was my first visit to this establishment under my friend's recommendation that he acquired from a Youtube Short. I came in with a neutral expectation so as not to set the bar too high.
To my surprise, the staff were very professional and quite helpful, informing me of options they recommend as well as sizing. Sharing noticeable similarities to Subway, you select what kind of sandwhich you want and then are given the option to add optional ingredients.
The quality of the chicken cutlet, in which I tried, was made abundantly clear as the chicken itself was so fresh, soft, and tender that it took little to no effort to bite pieces off of it. The vegetables and cheese were also quite fresh, and it complemented the chicken rather well on top of having mayo slathered in to help overall enhance the flavor.
The price was not too bad but would most likely get expensive for larger parties. For my friend and myself to share a 16" Chicken Cutlet with a Foxon Park Soda on top of a bottle of water, the price came out to about $30 - $40 plus tip. My friend and I concluded the price is reasonable due to the pure size of the grinder as well as the size of the cutlet and the amount of content contained inside of the grinder.
The atmosphere was rather cozy and pleasant if not a bit small inside. The fine establishment was rather inviting and welcomed by the store and staff with welcome arms. Outside the restaurant gives you a nice place to sit outside and soak in the warm rays of the sun as you enjoy your delectable grinder.
Post review note; apologies for not having better pictures of the interior as there were other patrons in the room who wished to not be...
Read moreAnytime I drive by Claudia's it pains me if I'm in too much of a hurry to stop and get a great sandwich packed with fresh ingredients. There is no better choice in this whole area than Claudia's. Great chicken salad on rye today, but I should broaden my menu choices as the ham and cheese grinders I saw being made before my order were awesome. Piled high with ham. Puts any other ham grinder to shame there was so much meat. They have capicola, too, which isn't that easy to find these days. Note: Claudia's will be moving across the street in a larger space by March 2023 with extended hours, closing at six instead of three. Good decision.
Long time local sandwich shop that is most well known for their fresh chicken parm grinder. I went in today to order their chicken salad on rye with lettuce but it wasn't available, so their tuna salad was suggested as an alternative choice with the recommendation it was really good. I said, fine, and added tomato and provolone to the rye and lettuce. These are big sandwiches, so I split it with someone and we both agreed it was absolutely delicious. Good news for Claudia's fans! They've always been open just for lunch hours. Signs in the shop say they'll be open for take out dinner soon! Indoor and seasonal outdoor seating with pleasant views. Bottled non-alcoholic drinks...
Read moreThe BEST Chicken Parm grinder... Mike & Sal hit it out of the park consistently. The cutlet on the grinder is real cutlet, pounded out, super thin, and it's then coated with just-the-right, corresponding amount of breading. The marinara is super, on-point (ode to Guy), meaning just the right consistency & amount of spices (many a marinara are garbage; to make one right, you need expertise), and the provolone (hand-sliced, in front of me) had the perfect amount of stretchy, gooey-ness. And a great sandwich - grinder, sub, poor boy, hoagie (call it what you want, based on your geography) - always has to have good bread... not too dense that it takes over (and all you're eating is bread) and not too light, so as to fall apart when eating it. I don't eat as much as I used to, but it was easy to not save half and devour the other 4-inches of the 8-inch grinder. I should have tasted more of it. LOL. Seriously, a really serious sandwich from the "original" sandwich artists, Sal & Mike. Excellent, excellent... will be back and will bring a...
