Joe’s Coney Island — Restaurant in Farmington

I thought the atmosphere was nice, but the sentiment didn't last. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. When placing my order, I asked specifically for a "chicken and lettuce only pita with nothing else on it" and when it arrived there was melted cheese in the pita. The cheese was melted on and around the chicken, which is not what I ordered. I explained to the waitress what the problem was and although she apologized she DID add on that "we didn't discuss cheese" as if it was my mistake. I thought I was very clear with my order. She took the food back, told me they would fix it by remaking the dish, but when my food came back it was the same food but in a new pita! The chicken had melted cheese on it and it was even folded inside of this new pita to almost hide it. This is very untrustworthy of a food establishment; I was told that I was going to get a new pita but the kitchen staff merely attempted to scrape off the cheese and, possibly, wash it off (it appeared a bit soggy). My food was taken away for a second time and by now my fries arrived, which sat while I waited for my pita to be returned to me. Once I had all of my food the way I originally ordered it, it tasted fine. However, I can't eat at an establishment where the kitchen can't be trusted. The waitress did offer to bring me a dessert on the house, but I lost my appetite by then and I simply do not trust this place to make my food. If you tell someone you will fix the mistake by remaking something, then do it; don't re-serve the same food with the same mistake on it. The food tasted great, the service was amazing, but the value isn’t there for our family. My son ordered a kids meal - Mac and cheese. What he got was a very small cup with some Mac and cheese for $7 - no soda, no fries, just a tiny cup of Mac and cheese. We mentioned it to our server and she agreed it was very small for $7, and she was kind enough to bring him some more. I think this may just be growing pains for a newly opened business, so we will give them some time and try them again. They definitely have the service down, a massive menu with plenty to offer, and what we ate tasted great. I hope they look at what other Coney Islands offer on their kids meals and provide something similar. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! This food was awful. Chicken finger pita came with nothing on it. We ALL know a chicken finger pita comes with chicken, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. This was just cut up chicken fingers on plain pita. Did not provide ranch as requested. Chicken breast sandwich looked like an old shoe heel put on a dried out bun soooo dry had to drink 3 glasses of water to get it down. All fries were old and cold.
