Mamaeatz is a restaurant with a lot of promise: trendy feel, the concept is a fusion of various types of cuisine, and based on the menu, it seems like there's a recipe for success. However... in reality the execution left a lot to be desired.
Mamaeatz is located in the heart of Farmington Hills, which is a double-edged sword because FH is home to a huge Indian Diaspora. Let me explain -- Mamaeatz's core menu is based off of Indian food items, and as a result, there's a huge market in folks looking for good quality Indian food... however the standards are also high because there are a ton of great options in this area! This is likely why Mamaeatz went for the fusion route as it adds a differentiator to all of the traditional Indian restaurants in the area.
In the time of COVID, convenience is a big priority and Mamaeatz does well in this area. They offer ordering via phone for takeout, and offer curbside pickup as well. Just call when you get to the restaurant and someone will come by with your food! The process is a little clunky, but no major complaints, I know they're still working through it!
Now for the not so great part... at face value, the food seemed like it'd be great. Good visual appeal, and the aroma was on point! However I knew things were off when I bit into the first Vada and the inside was mushy...completely undercooked. I figured maybe it was just a fluke, but nope, I saw the same issue on the next one too! On top of that, the Chicken 555 was also undercooked! Flavor profiles were just right, but the undercooked nature of the dishes made it impossible to finish them. The Biryani was cooked to a good level, but the flavor left me wanting more. On the plus side, the portions are ample and it's not expensive for what you're getting.
Unfortunately I think Mamaeatz has yet to reach its full potential... I'd consider stopping by the restaurant sometime in the future when they've worked out some issues, but as of right now, I'll be going to other Indian restaurants...
Read moreWe tried Mameatz - the restaurant and the Party Hall for a family function. It was a great experience in all and I would rate their hospitality higher than any other Indian restaurants that I have tried in the Farmington Hills and Novi area.
Restaurant: We tried the restaurant first before booking the Party hall to sample the food. Food was very good, especially the sweets Gulub Jamoon and Ras Malai. Thalapakatti Biryani is a South Indian (Tamil Nadu) Biryani made with Jeeraga Samba rice and it was very authentic to the original taste. However, its only available only on the weekends.
Their starters such as Samosa and Onion Pakoda are good. In fact they have recently started to offer Tea/Coffee with snacks in the evenings just outside their restaurant. Reminds me of the Tea shops in India that serve hot snacks to go with the tea.
I think the ownership changed recently and I can see that the owners genuinely taking an effort in giving a better dinning experience for the guests.
Tip: While ordering, if you are someone sensitive to the spice level, mention your preferred level of spice. I felt their medium is high for us.
Party Hall: I was looking for a party hall for a family function, enquired few of the restaurants in FH and Novi area but Mamaeatz stood out for their customer experience, especially Mr. Rama Krishna and Mr. Nileesh. It’s always good business when the owner calls the customer by name and the restrooms are as clean as the restaurant.
The party hall can comfortably hold 60 guests with separate entrance, bathrooms and seating arrangements. They did a great job of the arrangements considering the workforce challenges due to Covid.
On our event day, I could see that the hall was cleaned thoroughly and room fresheners were used. All these were on top on what was asked from them. They even managed to provide us a good table cloth to make our event better. He also managed to get us a Spot light to enhance the lighting...

The experience starts that grill paneer recipe written on the chalk board available for weekend and marked at 5$. On ordering it turned out to being billed for paneer Tikka at 12$. With a response of this is what we have.
Next, you get a serving of the toughest cooked paneer Tikka you'll ever have. In some red paste, no amchur, no hung curd, and no basic masala on veggies, (two pieces of onion and capsicum)
I'll give you the solution as well. I don't want to hit your business. It's a Tikka, it's supposed to be cooked in a tandoor, which is 800°c to 1000°c please note that if you slow cook at a domestic oven at 450, it will spoil. Never even cut the paneer in less that 1.5 inches. You'll make it loose it's moisture. Make home make paneer for Tikka, and don't use vinegar. And please use the proper recipe, surprised that even with Google you were least bothered to follow a recipe. There was no curd, bhuna besan, or basic masalas in your cooking. Then for god's sake please marinate it for atlest 4 hours. Mind you, in most places even in veggies are coated. Give properly cooked and coated veggies Mind you let a North Indian dish stay north Indian. Don't spoil things. Even if you use some other recipe you can't serve paneer which is not chewable. Just like you think biryani needs effort and respect hours you spend making it or even simple dose batter, respect other's food too. And spend time cooking paneer as well with a proper recipe, people are paying for a proper dish.
Please don't misjudge or disrespect a customer's opinion. It's God's food you...
