Miyabi Jr. Express. — Restaurant in Fayetteville

Extremely disappointed with the quality of my meal. I absolutely love this place, come at least once a month. I always get the same thing, chicken katsu bowl. I don’t know what happened today, but wow… just terrible. First, I call to place a pick up order and kept getting sent to voicemail. So I drove over and it was pretty empty. A little annoyed, but not too upset. I ordered my food, took a little long. Again, slow night? When I got home I opened my bowl just to find that my chicken was burn to a complete crisp. I tried putting all the white sauce on the chicken to mask the burnt flavor but it was tough. This has never happened and it was bad enough for me to leave a one star because that chicken was BURNT TO A CRISP! Definitely one of our once maybe two times a month restaurants to visit. Portion is always good. A little bland on the flavor but personally I rather a little bland than to salty. I also like the flavor of the sauce so it makes up for it. Some days we've gone and the flavor is on point especially with the steak, and other days as I described above. This part doesn't bother me much. However, once in a while I guess depending on the cook the food will be overcooked and this is the part that has me between a 3.5 and 4 star. Again it's not always and it hasn't been terribly overcooked where it'll keep me from coming again. But if I was the owner I would definitely train the cooks a bit more on these 2 issues. Really bad service. I spent a lot of money of really horrible food. Only half of the mushrooms were cooked, the sushi smells putrid and rotten, and was very obviously old. I asked about it, but the cashier just said “yes that’s the sushi” and walked away. The food presentation was horrible, it looks nasty in the box. The chicken was extremely dry and chewy, definitely wasn’t made fresh. I tried some of it but it was bad. It all had to be thrown away. I had to ask 7 times for a fork and was told I already had one then had to empty my bag to prove I didn’t just to get one. Every time I asked the cashier for something she just stared at me.
