My husband wanted to surprise me wish a stop at this local pie shop for some dessert. Here are my thoughts: first/ the blonde young lady manning the counter was BY FAR the best part of this experience. She was delightful. several pies available- some looked pretty good while others looked old and crusted over - saw 2 Easter themed pies on 5/1. there are A LOT of OLD Nick nacks literally everywhere/ very old items strewn about - sitting inside the pie cabinet etc. this gives “unclean” vibes. It just does. -no chocolate, French silk, coconut, banana cream, or pecan available. Tons of very different fruit variations. Most of these are stored in a pie cabinet/ room temp and uncovered. It may be perfectly in line with health department guidelines but it was quite unappetizing there were several flies in the store and 2 in the pie cabinet. These were common house flies not fruit flies. there was a person posted up in a booth with laptop playing games / feet up on the booth seat- looked to maybe they are employed there or maybe a relative of the owner. When “they” got up to “help” serve pies we didn’t see them wash their hands. we ordered 2 slices from the refrigerated area thinking this was the safest bet. My custard pie was ok.. not great by any means.
I’m sure the owner will excuse this all away. My advice is skip this one. It certainly has potential but currently missing the mark for...
Read moreThe fact that S*lad is the most cited word in these reviews is sickening to me. I don't know how the sal@d is because they make the best desserts, read: PIES in town. I don't care how good it is, I'll never find out bc it can't even be in the same universe as the pie. There are no less than... 25-30 varieties at any time. I will say I've had one or two that probably shouldn't have become pies (cotton candy) but I'd have been pleased anywhere else, I was only upset in the least bc having been to Rymolene's many times prior I knew what I was missing out on! I guess that's why I still keep trying interesting/unique pies as well as my favs, I appreciate that it could get even better and that's worth the "risk".
-full of sugar and blissfully ignorant about whether they serve a chef's,...
Read moreWithout a doubt, the best pies in Arkansas. Went here on a lark and WOW we were not disappointed! Lemme just say, my mom is an amazing baker, and so were my grandmothers, so we know GOOD pies. These pies are not just GOOD, they're Exquisite. I bought a whole coconut cream pie, and a slice each of the bourbon apple pecan and the chocolate fudge cream. The selection is staggeringly diverse, the shop itself is completely charming, and the free coffee was just a wonderful touch. I brought all this pie goodness to share with my family and everyone was ooing and awing over how amazingly perfect they each were. We will certainly be back, and will certainly be telling anyone and everyone about this hidden gem! Chef Margaret Burris, my hats off...
