What a disappointment! It has been a long while since I've ordered here, especially at this location on Walter Reed Road. The service was great, employees had masks and gloves on, the lady at the drive-thru window was very polite and friendly. But the quality of their food was not as great as they used to be. I understand that these days, a lot of restaurant businesses have lost a lot in their revenues and employees. But, for those working in the restaurant business the quality of their food seemed to have gotten worst. I ordered a Club Sandwich Meal, that contained lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, bacon and battered chicken filet in a toasted Texas bread, along with some fries and a drink. I opened my box, and I found very soggy fries, it wasn't even a enough to call it a handful. The fries were so soggy and limpy that even when I dipped a piece in some honey barbeque sauce I had at home there was no way of reviving it at all. It was dry and salty...Yep! It was basically had been sitting in the warmer a long while. The Club Sandwich???? Well, let's start with the Texas Toast they had. It was greasy from the butter it was slathered with, wasn't fresh, and I don't think they actually use Texas toast; that size of bread they used I know wasn't an actual Texas Toast bread. The chicken wasn't freshly breaded and made because it had no crunched when you bit into it. It was so limp and bland that "Col. Sander's Original Recipe" tasted better than this Club Chicken I had. And the bacon wasn't fresh either....it looks as if these strips of bacon sitting underneath the lifeless chicken had been sitting on it's "last leg" since the earlier shift. The lettuce and tomatoes were so wilted that when I bit into the sandwich it was like I was biting off rubber toy vegetables. I don't even remember if there was a slab of cheese in this soggy sandwich. Come on Zaxby's...if you're going to advertise "freshness" in your dishes...you need to tell your management and crew what the real meaning of "fresh" mean before serving it. I paid $17.80 for my meal and a friend's, which I'm not even going to mention about her "Great 8 Boneless Meal" she got. Let's just say, it was "lifeless"! I gave them 3 stars for the staff being courteous and for using safety masks and gloves and their attentiveness. But...
Read moreI LOVE Zaxbys food and could literally bathe in Zax sauce I do believe, the reason I am eating 3 stars is because my last visit I had called ahead and and called in an order for pick up. I work at a medical office nearby and we are very busy and rarely get lunch on the rare occasion we do it has to be something close and quick and to go so we can work and eat at the same time. That's why I call ahead! The gentleman that took myorder sounded new and inexperienced and taking phone orders but that's fine everybody needs a chance.when I got there they had no clue where my order was it had not been started and definitely wasn't ready. When they figured out what was going on the manager did have them drop the chicken very quickly and get it out to me as quickly as possible. she apologized and explained what was going on and the gentleman that took my order over the phone came and apologized and explained that he was new and that was his first phone order. I understand that mistakes happen but it just seemed things were a little off and unorganised that day. I appreciate the young man coming over and owning his mistake and apologizing I explained to him that it's okay everyone makes mistakes. I still think with all of that going on and the fact that I had to wait about 15 minutes after I had already calledfor my order that they could have at least thrown in a free dessert or taking a percentage off or given something for my next order. That's okay I was very hungry food was awesome and like I said I...
Read moreNot worth the money. The food I ordered was horrendous. It was cold, and greasy. I ordered their Zaxby's Club...you might as well say it got hit by a club!!! First of all the Texas Toast was not even fresh, it was too greasy and very limpy. You know when you "toast" a bread on a griddle you should have a little crunch on that bread. Instead, it was very limp and the butter wasn't pleasing on it. The lettuce and tomato that they used seemed like it was on their last breath...not fresh... NO! It was too wilted...and I could tell they prepped their vegetables a few days before, placed the leftovers back in the chiller. But, I love how they described each dish in their menu: crisp lettuce and tomatoes...that's a lie...there was not "crisp" in my lettuce nor the tomato. They were wilted!!! And the bacon....soggy...2 itty bitty, soggy bacon. And the Chicken...it was cold, and soggy breading. My fries were not even a handful, it was cold...looked as if it had been sitting under the warmer all day. But, the employee that took my order was very nice...and fast. Maybe that's the problem, to cut the wait time, they prep everything early, let it sit under the warmer. Come on...for the price I paid of $17+ it was not worth it. Don't say I didn't...
