Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Fayetteville

I had high hopes, the location failed me. Overall the quality of the chicken and value as taken a sharp decline. You used to get pretty decent size chicken fingerz, that is not the case anymore. Blame inflation I guess. However this is not the only complaint. I ordered online through the app. and as we all know there is that delicate dance you have when placing a future order. Will my food be fresh or will they fill my order as they get it and then let it sit and get cold. 🤔 Well it was the latter. When I arrived the dining area was empty (around 6pm). I was surprised but delighted, no line. However when I told the young person at the register I was there for a pick up, she graciously gave me my order. She was nice and friendly. I then proceeded to check my order. I ordered a 3 piece snack pax, a kids meal, a 6 piece tossed in nuclear sauce, and 2 4 piece meals, double fries. I was missing a 4 piece. I addressed it to the same young person and quickly gave me my missing meal. I said thank you. To me, it no problem, it was caught and fixed. When I got home my husband noticed on his 6 piece meal, they only gave him 4 strip. Not only do you have the check your order before leaving, you have to count too. One of our sons loves to eat here but even he said the food was not as good this time. The chicken wings were well sauced. They had a good flavor and good coverage but it was not as spicy as expected based on the rating scale on the lobby sign. The soda machine was having problems dispensing the drinks. Maybe it needed to be refilled or cleaned? The coke came out very dark and textured. 🤢 The cream soda was watery and another customer had sputtering as her drink dispensed. Somehow, the funnel cake was both soggy and dry while also being too high priced for the amount served. It seemed like the temp may have started too high or too low and was adjusted during cooking as the cake seemed to have been overcooked while also taking in too much oil during cooking. Our son said the texture was like swallowing 2 Tbsp of peanut butter. On a better note, the counter and cook staff were all friendly and helpful. Our order was correct and they had reasonably fast service. I got in line at 8:41pm it’s 9:20pm still outside waiting for my food when I got to the register to pay I was already in line for 20 mins 8 mins after ordering when pulled up I paid and received my drinks and was told they need to drop chicken filets and was told to pull up I asked how long will that be he shrugged his shoulders and said i don’t know I said well how long does that take to cook he said about 5-10 mins so after already waiting 20 mins I have to wait another 10! I asked if I can get a refund he said yes or you can just pull up and turn your car off and wait I said I have children in the car and he just looked like a deer in headlights and said well.. I pulled off to wait seeing it’s dinner and I’ve already waited this long it’s now 9:25 I’m finally getting my food. It wasn’t busy but I understand sometimes it takes longer but 30 mins is crazy and the lack of empathy scrams poor customer service.
