Europa Delicatessen — Restaurant in Fernandina Beach

I first visited the Europa Delicatessen about a year ago (not long after they opened) during our annual beach trip to Amelia Island, and as soon as I walked in, the owners' happiness and customer service made it seem like we were old friends. When I visited again last week, the only change I noticed was a greater variety of products. They have a large selection of pre-packaged, shelf-stable products and fresh pastries and breads, but for me, the cheeses and cured meats are the main draw. I went there yesterday to see their selection, the owners were very polite and offered some samples for me to try. I ended up selecting one of those samples and have not been able to stop snacking on it! Can't wait to try pairing the sausage with some cheeses and other delightful pairings offered there. I also purchased some pastrami, Swiss cheese, mustard, and some bread selected by the staff with which I made a very delicious sandwich. We also tried some pastries that made us want to come back. It took me entirely too long to wander in, but what a fantastic experience! That's the best pastrami I've ever had, Red Dragon mustard and ale cheddar, polish brine pickles, creamy cheddar, and duck pate. I also grabbed some focaccia, but it was toasting in the oven.

The shop is run by two of the nicest people! I knew it was going to be good, because they were so proud of what they had.
