Best Thai food I have ever had. This was actually the first place I ever had Thai food before. I thought everyplace I went afterwards would be just as good. No way. They cannot even compare. And it's not only the best in town, the portions are huge. I have only finished an entree in the dining room once.
The way they do the Pad Thai is unparalleled. Everywhere else I go to, it tastes like one of those Thai noodle kits from the Asian section at Walmart. Not here. It's just the right amount of sauce too. Everywhere else, the noodles are so dry.
The waitresses have been here for years and are very very nice so make sure and tip them well. Service is super fast. Order your meal, 10 minutes and your eating.
The cooks here know their way around a wok. They are so efficient you won't believe it. Used to come here three times a week when I lived closer. Parking is a pain, and if your into fancy decor, this place isn't for you. This is one of those places that you learn about from a friend. You could walk by and not even notice it.
I could eat here everyday. If I was on death row, pad Thai xxxtra hot, with extra peanuts no tomato, and two spring rolls. And a sizzling rice soup. I haven't had any in months but after this review I am dying for some. If you never had Thai food before, you wont believe the contrast of different flavors you never even knew about. And contrary to popular opinion, Thai food is much more than just heat. Hope you love this place as...
Read moreBangkok cafe definitely has a mom and pop feel and a home made delicious taste to match! The food was excellent and each dish had flavors that were sufficiently complex and well balanced. If you are familiar with thai food already, you will like or love the food. It is not overly altered for the American Pallette. For appetizers, The Tom Yam Guy (hot and sour Thai style, not Chinese) and Tom kha guy (Tom yam with coconut milk) were both so flavorful, comforting and delicious. We also had Fresh rolls (meat, cilantro and lettuce wrapped in rice paper) which were very refreshing (not at all savory and must be eaten with the accompanying sauce for more flavor). The shrimp curry was a thin coconut milk style and incredibly savory; spiced and seasoned well. It has a nice kick to it; I ordered spicy but they have mild and medium options as well. The pad Thai was not too sweet or bland as I have experienced at other places; the flavors were well balanced, layered well and incredibly delicious and savory. I will be returning! Fair warning, this place is charming, but not "fine dining" atmosphere. They do have ample booth and table seating to sit and enjoy, but do not expect any frills or...
Read moreFor all the hype it gets, I was not impressed. We ordered three different noodle dishes and all of them where literally the same noddles just with a different sauce - and, speaking of sauce, it was more oil than sauce. Also, we got medium spice (what we always get) and it did nothing more than burn my lips and make my nose run a bit - meaning it didn't add any flavor or anything to the food, it was just there and only noticeable because of those two things which (to me) is the wrong way to do spice. The food wasn't bad or anything don't get me wrong, but it seemed more like a McDonalds of Thai food than a place that deserves a 5 star rating. It was NO WHERE NEAR the "best Thai food I've ever had" as many are saying in other reviews. Plenty of other places around the area are better.
On another note, this place is extremely hard to find at night if you don't already know where you are going. Not only is their sign not lighted, but it's also very high up so you can't really see it from your car - I drove past it the first time and I was actively looking for it! There is also no parking nearby on even a relatively...
