Ferndale Foods — Local services in Ferndale

I' m righting this review because I felt it was extremely inpotent for the owner of Ferndale foods to start making some changes. I have a number of concern about how long there food is setting on the shelf. I have to spend a lot of time checking the expiration date. The prices are so high. This is why on the shelf for so long. It is nice to see they are buying some goods in bulk. But then you have to ask your safe is this something my customer's will want what kind of review Is it going to bring in. Because I might be better to lower your prices by 5 to 20% then to compulsive spending. Another consern is the deli department. Your putting family works to work in this department when they find it hard to handle meat products. The containers for sizes are to my I are not the right size. And how long is the food setting there as when I buy anything from there they last 2 days top.I just stop trying. And countless time it takes for someone to help you. There is no organics department. The meet is good if you are going to cook for the day of as some can not be used on it after sale by date. My suggestion to this is to change to use by date. Or have a clearance section for meat. If you are going to specialized in sales in bulk for drinks put all in the same department. Get stands and put in isles. this should be so customer's are not spending nso much time there. I also think if you change this people will buy weeks of groceries and not oh I forget something to make my dinner for tonight. You know, this location is EXCELLENT, their prepared food is incredible but I just can't wrap my head around some of the staff. Either they're in the best mood ever or they're downright hateful. It's frustrating. I rode up here from my house today and forgot my lock. I put my bike in the vestibule (Like I do EVERYDAY), went in to grab lunch like I do every day and was immediately attacked by a woman who was well over 20 feet away from me. She made it her mission to tell me that my bike was "blocking the way" which is funny because EVERY OTHER DAY I DO IT, ITS NOT AN ISSUE. Then she alluded to the fact that I should feel stupid for not having my lock with me. Its aggravating when all you want to do is go in a store, buy food and leave and someone has to start enforcing arbitrary rules for no reason other than they're having a bad day. Then, she decided she was going to speak to me like a child and attempt to lead me away from the front counter. I won't be treated with disrespect. It was an aggravating experience. GREAT prepared food, some of the best in Ferndale. But I won't be back. I'd rather pay more and be treated with respect and shop at Western Market. OH! And to top it all off, when I called to speak to a manager about the terrible experience, I was told they "stepped out". Then when I called back, I was hung up on. TERRIBLE...

Today I went to Ferndale foods to get a couple of items. I asked an employee If could help me find an item. he showed me were I could find it. I still did not see the item. I asked him again. he just walked away. I then saw another employee, and he was very helpful. I walked away with my food cart and item that I wanted. I then heard the other employee talking to the employee that helped me; talking in their own dialect and laughing. I brushed it off and went on my way. I encountered the employee again. he then asked me could he help me find something. I stated to him, that he was be patronizing and to please leave me alone. while laughing, he stated that he was trying to help me. I continued to tell him to leave me alone. At that point, the manager of the store walked up. I then explained to manager what transpired between myself and his employee. The manager stated that he just didn't want any confirmation, and that he would talk to him. it should be noted that while I was talking to the manager, the employee was still aggressive towards me and continued to be disrespectful. I will now continue to good to Holiday market or Western market. Both stores treat you with dignity and respect. I can no longer spend my hard working retirement money at...
