Update 2022 Under the previous owners, Luxe was one of the best restaurants in Ferndale. While the current business still serves good food, they do not have anywhere near the range of dietary options that they used to. When we recently tried to order a take-out meal, we were told that, unlike the previous menu, the only two choices for the vegans in our family were fried rice and pad Thai. We ordered those dishes. Arriving at the restaurant, we were told that the vegetable fried rice was actually not suited for vegetarians, though no attempt had been made to contact us or replace it. The vegetarian "pad Thai" dish was a carton of noodles with a few chopped peanuts sprinkled on top. Understandably, not all restaurants can provide food suitable for all people. However, those providing it should be clear and honest about what they can offer, and be able to work with customers to refund or provide other options if...
Read moreThe food is top notch! The people are genuine and passionate about what they do. Positive energy flows in and around this business. Tonight, I came in and ordered food to go. As I waited, I found a tiny book on the table near the register. Teachings of Buddhadasa. I picked it up and started reading it. It was so fascinating and everything I was reading was just speaking to my soul. When they brought the food I mentioned how awesome the little book was. Once they were out of white rice and had to eat brown rice. Tasted horrible. How would a restaurant run out of white rice? The owner is super nice and sweet, calls everyone "honey." My biggest disappointment is that they aren't spicy. Thai food should be spicy, when I asked for spicy food I got "white people" spicy. Meaning they tone it down for those they perceive can't handle or aren't used to spicy food. They are good in a pinch but not ,y...
