My spouse bought me a special, which includes a Spa Pass, Foot Soak, and Halotherapy Session.
I loved the Zero G Massage Chairs - they were definitely my favorite thing, as a birth parent to a super active toddler and as someone who has a very active job. I did struggle a little bit getting my position just right because I'm so short, but overall, the chairs still did a fantastic job, particular on my feet and lower legs. I was glad to see a disinfecting spray available to clean after use. Kind of wish I had brought an eye mask to keep out the lighting - it was soft but still distracting.
The infrared dry salt sauna was great. It was clean and well functioning.
The Himalayan salt cave was just as described and pictured. I don't really believe that Himalayan salt has any inherent benefit to wellness; it's just one type of salt. Still, the Halotherapy was a unique experience, and I enjoy the taste of salt, so licking my lips afterward to taste it was fun. I also made salt angels.
The Relaxation Parlor seemed neat, but I didn't choose to spend much time in it. I was there for my Foot Soak, and it was fine, just sort of bright. The main thing was the counter with gem "infused" sprays and lotions, which were fine. I used them at the end just to make the most of the visit, but I don't know that they do anything other than make me smell nice.
The Parlor is a great idea, but it sucks that you have to preorder food 3 days in advance. I didn't know that was a thing until I checked the site the night before...so, useless knowledge. I do wish there were more food than the tiniest of nibbles, especially if you stay there for multiple services. It's wild that you can't bring "outside" food and drink when there's no reliable way to get a small meal or a larger snack, especially if you forget.
I was disappointed in the Amethyst Cave. Apparently, a guest had broken the brine waterfall thing, so it was reduced to a room with rocks, chairs, and candles. That wasn't enough to keep my brain engaged in rest and relaxation; it just felt boring and pointless.
The area with books was nice, though I did not read outside of my Foot Soak time. I'm glad they have this area, for those inclined to read in a cozy spot. Just not my thing if I intend on getting some R&R away from my hectic life.
I did use the massage chairs about 4 times, the sauna twice, and entered the salt cave twice. I appreciated the tour by Abby, who was super helpful and informative. I definitely appreciated the timing reminders because there were almost zero clocks (for obvious reasons).
Overall, I'm glad I went. It was a great way to unwind and get some needed TLC. I just hope the amethyst cave's water display works soon.
Oh, and the sauna wrap is SO expensive! $50 for a tube top dress?! Yikes. I should have gotten a swim suit on clearance instead. I plan on going back, both because it helped me and because the sauna wrap was...
Read moreI just moved to the area and was hunting out some massage and a yoga studio. Flow Motion can do that and more. Everyone talks about that third space but Alyssa, the owner, really makes you welcome here, and not just during class. Imagine if you had a well connected celebrity friend with a big house and personal trainers and she invited you to her house to enjoy the perks.....that's what it feels like....and who doesn't want that? There is a relaxation lounge where you can hang out and enjoy tea or coffee and several heated massage chairs or huge foam bag chair. This is for all to enjoy at your leisure. There is a fireplace and a reading library, foot soaks...the list of amenities goes on...
If that is not enough to find your bliss, there is a private state of the art massage chair experience by the hour and !!my favorite! the infrared sauna!! I cannot say enough about the infrared sauna! I spent over a month moving and on the road driving from out of state and my arms were killing me and I was hunting for massage. I spent one session in that sauna and the pain is gone! I also have some arthritis in my knee, also pain gone. Its miraculous.
On to the practical...I went to Tara's yoga class on Friday am and it was excellent. She truly impressed me. If you are looking for a yoga and spa home, this is truly a hidden gem. They have a couple of studio rooms, the relaxation lounge, the therapy areas for other modalities and classroom for essential oil etc etc.
There are no contracts here and you can punch card (as I have) or do a membership and Alyssa recognizes me when I come in, so I don't actually sign in or carry a card. Because this is a welcoming place. The price is so modest for everything offered and the truly beautiful surroundings Alyssa has created that you will thank me for tipping you off. Just don't tell Too many friends...I don't want to get crowded out. ;)
But do check it out. You won't be sorry. Its in a stealthy location on the top floor of a rather industrial building...look for the sandwich sign in the drive but the building is before the overpass. Just walk up the stairs above their sign and open the door. The signage is a little confusing but just go for it and you will be rewarded with a truly wonderful...
Read moreI coordinated a spa day for my sister-in-law’s bridal shower, and was looking for a local spa that could provide a a few healing experiences in a relaxing, clean environment.
We’d heard great things about Flow Motion’s Himalayan salt and amethyst caves and were excited to check them out. I researched several options in the area and decided on Flow Motion because of their unique space and offerings.
I chose their spa pass from 1-4 pm on a Saturday for a group of eight. This allowed us to freely wander their two beautiful caves, infrared sauna, zero gravity massage chair lounge, library/relaxation area with aromatherapy and tea, and parlor for three hours. We added on an hour-long group sound healing from 4-5.
This entire afternoon was absolutely incredible. The group had such a good time exploring the healing spaces, and the sound healing was amazing. We left feeling revitalized, nourished, and deeply relaxed. I slept great that night, too!
Beyond the wonderful spa day itself, the owner Alyssa and Client Concierge Abby went above and beyond to make this bridal shower experience incredibly special, tailored to our group’s needs, and excellent from beginning to end. I really appreciated the attention to detail, care, and intentionality their team put into making all aspects of our spa day lovely and stress-free.
Don’t let the outside of this historic building fool you! Once inside, you’re transported to a peaceful, healing oasis, filled with a variety of “zen’ed out” spaces and thoughtful touches. The parlor is also a beautiful place for a meal. Alyssa and Abby helped me find just the right food options for our group (beautiful charcuterie trays, salads, and a couple desserts!).
The group sound healing was also incredible! Everyone felt so comfortable and relaxed - several fell asleep and woke up totally refreshed! I would definitely recommend that add-on.
I highly recommend Flow Motion for an individual or group spa day. Thanks for all your help making this event a success,...
