First things first, this review has been a long time coming. I'm not really a competitive person by nature and I don't like to pit restaurants against each other. There are a number of establishments in Ferndale, you can take your pick but when all is said and done, Thai Garden is uniquely Thai Garden. In my mind, it is single-handedly the best and my most favorite place to grab a bite in all of not just Ferndale but really the surrounding greater metro area. To reference Highlander, there can only be one and Thai Garden is just that, number one! Bang for buck, the food is always remarkably consistent and you are going to be graciously rewarded for either sticking to and/or veering off the well-trodden path of Pad Thai (Might I recommend the SP11!). The service is top notch and the love and care put into the craft of not only making the food but serving it as well should not go unnoticed. Sometimes, we forget that food is art in all forms. Sometimes, we forget that the people behind the food are just as important as the dish itself. Sometimes we are gifted the best of both worlds in service and dining and that is absolutely the case with TG. Needless to say, I have never once been disappointed. It's been my rock for many years and even in the years that I've moved away from the homestead, I am eternally grateful to say I've always found my way back with an eager belly. If I could give out 6 stars, you know I would.
If you find yourself reading this today, I hope you and yours are well and well-fed. Thanks for your time. -...
Read moreThis is my favorite Thai place and the food is so good so it makes me really sad to make this but I had such a terrible experience tonight that I had to say something. For context, I walk everywhere I don't have a car. I went to the dispensary up the street to get something for myself after a hard week. I ordered my food and sat down to wait and the lady at the register was spraying air freshener and asking if I had weed on me to which I said "Um, yes I just stopped at the dispensary" and she then made me wait for my food outside claiming "girl you stink". I apologized and waited outside expecting her to at least hand it to me or call for me but it just sat on a table inside until I peered through the window. She even sat it away from the register with a bunch of people in the restaurant who could have touched it. When I then went inside to grab it trying to just not draw attention to myself because obviously I was embarrassed, she then yelled out super loudly that she was "sorry about that" and humiliating me even more while I was on the phone with my boyfriend about my sick grandmother in the hospital. Needless to say I don't think I'll be coming back which really sucks because their food is actually...
Read moreI would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Thai restaurant near Ferndale. The Prices are extremely reasonable, the portion sizes were great, and the wait staff are extremely friendly. The spring rolls were crispy and filled to the brim with fresh ingredients. The plum sauce for the spring rolls was not the usual plum sauce. It tasted and had the consistency of apple sauce. The combination of the two was still really good though. The Tom Yum was hands down the best Tom Yum I have ever had. The spice was on point and you could taste the harmony between all of the vegetables in the soup. The clear noodles w/ pad Thai sauces was delicious besides the noodles being over cooked and a little mushy. The only down side do the food was the rice. I have never had Fried rice like this. The rice was overly sweet and the texture was off. The only thing in the fried rice was a small small amount if cooked egg. it resembled more of a sweet Spanish rice than a fried rice. I would recommend asking for plain white rice than the fried rice with any...
