Tony's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Ferndale

I am writing this review literally as my boyfriend and I walk out of this bar. We just received what is possibly the rudest service of our lives. The waiter was cold to us the whole time and never smiled. He never said thank you or you're welcome, and he barely waited on us at all. We asked for a drink menu, and he said there wasn't one. I suppose we took too long squinting at the chalk board trying to decipher the small words, because he finally reached over to another table and rudely placed a drink menu in front of us. In doing so, he knocked into my knee extremely hard and didn't apologize. He acted like he didn't have time for us, and would walk away (without a word) before we could finish our sentences.

We were nothing but extremely polite and friendly the whole time. We weren't demanding or rude, and we did not deserve such crass behavior. We will never come back here.

I live in Upstate NY, a friend lives close by. Absolutely we go there everytime I come into town. Usually we'll meet friends or family here for good beer & drinks, along with absolutely fantastic bar food! Fried baloney sandwiches, love em! My personal favorite, by special request, are tater tots covered with chili, cheese and chopped onions! Add Miller Genuine Draft, The Champagne of Beer's and I'm in heaven.

The other part that seals the deal as "my" Detroit hangout are the people that work here. Every time I walk in the door, it's like I never left. Everyone makes sure you feel welcome, and the crowd always adds to the ambiance. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to stop in, have a beer & some fantastic bar...

This establishment might have received a higher review if not for the rude & inconsiderate waiter/bartender. He acted as though he did not want to be there and we were a bother every time he came by. He misstated that there was no drink list (which he later grabbed off another table), to walking away before we could order while we were talking to him, and he pushed my girlfriend's leg out of the way when he walked by (definitely a customer service no-no). In addition he appeared to have this same demeanor towards every customer so it was not just us. Even if they were short-staffed (2-3 people), that type of behavior is unacceptable.
