Because Iām sick, I can only keep down BRās vanilla malts. My mother has been going there daily for months to purchase one for me (I canāt drive). The staff has been WONDERFUL, until Ruby came into the picture. Mom ordered the usual but when she brought it home, it wasnāt vanilla and I canāt eat anything BUT vanilla or Iāll be violently ill. Mom took it back to BR. Ruby REFUSED to exchange it and yelled at my elderly mother! She screamed, āI didnāt make a mistake, YOU ordered it wrong!ā Again, weāve ordered the SAME thing for MONTHS! It went back and forth until my mom finally said, āletās agree to disagree.ā Rubyās response? āNO! Because IāM RIGHT!!ā Mom DID end up buying yet ANOTHER malt, because I did have to eat! So, one malt ended up costing us $28! We typically spend $8.99/malt, but Ruby charged mom $13.99/malt! When my mother came home, she was as white as a sheet and shaking. After she told me what happened, I called Ruby. When I asked her about verbally assaulting an elderly woman, she put the phone down on me! My husband called the Corporate Office when he got home from work and the gentleman he spoke to couldnāt have been nicer! He said that he would contact the owner of the Fillmore store and he, in turn, would call us back. That was 6 days ago and weāve heard NOTHING. Dumb move. We spend $270/month thereā¦ā¦but NOT anymore!! Now we go to a BR that is further away but itās well worth it because RUBY...

After a busy week, with a couple of days down with the flu, I realized I hadn't phoned in to Baskin Robbins to order our family's traditional Easter ice cream cake (thanks to Tammy). I reside in San Diego and during my travels I phoned in (hands-free) early Saturday morning to see if I could place the order and pick up a little later in the day. Staff was very polite when explaining to me special orders require a 24-hour notice to ensure a baker is available. (Yikes....my family was NOT going to be happy with me breaking tradition.) I thanked them and decided to try the Santa Paula store. I was on the phone with the SP store when the Fillmore store phoned me to let me know that they were able to speak with their baker and shared my story (my plight really), and this big-hearted baker agreed to fill my order to help keep our family tradition alive for our Saturday celebration! I was greeted with a smile and offered a sample of daiquiri ice, the flavor was to my liking and is consistent everytime. Alma served me my icecream and even asked how I was doing. She definitely made me feel welcome and happy with choosing this location. I will continue to make the 30 minute trip to visit...
