I’ve eaten here three times. Each time was like eating jerky, except I didn’t order jerky... Twice I had the Lomo Saltaldo ($18.99). The first time I figured that something went wrong, since I had heard good things from friends, and read some good reviews. The beef was very tough, dense and very chewy, with gristle. The flavor was decent though, so I figured they just had a bad day. I went back a few weeks later, and tried the same dish again. Shame on me. The beef was tough, chewy and dense again. It was like a disappointing jerky - all the chew but not the flavor this time. I think I don’t learn very quickly. After all, my Peruvian friend said it was good. I figured what do I know? So, I had the Saltado chicken. I didn’t know folks made jerky out of chicken too…. The salad the meals come with is basically iceberg that is barely visited by some vegetables, dropping in to say a quick, hello. I gave two stars, since I hear it is authentic and I’m trying to be nice, since it’s locally owned. I only gave two stars, since it really isn’t very good and it’s not worth the $ for...

Some of the dishes and sauces are similar to Tropical Grille (if you haven't been there, you're missing out), but they definitely have a more diverse menu. I've gotten the classic dish of beef and fries (lomo soltado) and a few of the appetizers in the past (taqueños/yuca, mmm). Tonight I got the trilogy ceviche. The fish tasted fresh, and the sauces/spices were quite nice. It was very tasty, and for the price, it's hard to beat. Nitpicking: ceviche was served on a plate instead of in a bowl, and it wasn't long before I was creating napkin dams to stem the flow of sauce. Just an odd choice that really did take away from my dining experience. This will probably never be my go-to, but it definitely satisfies a niche craving, so I'll...
Read moreI 🇨🇴🇪🇨 came here with my husband 🇨🇭 & some friends to finally try out this location. 😀 & I was pleasantly surprised. I love Peruvian food their like my “cousins” 😅 being 🇪🇨🇨🇴 I ordered bistec pobre & the steak was delicious & the seasoning. We ordered the empanadas too; I missed empanadas with sugar coating like 🇪🇨. I love that they carry traditional kolas like Inca Kola & La Colombiana. My only criticism is the empanadas could be filled with more meat; I make homemade empanadas & I stuff them up always for family & friends. Aside from that normal utensils would be nice if possible 😅 the plastic utensils 🍴 were a little hard to cut the steak with 🥩. For just my husband ordering two plates, two empanadas & one soda to share was about $45 as an idea of pricing. As a total group of 4 it was $95. The restaurant is family owned and the children were very friendly...
