I have already been to viet cuisine twice now. I first went on the "soft opening" as well as today. The soft opening was pure chaos. I waited about 1.5 hours for my food, which was 2 bahn mi sandwiches and one pork with rice. I also ordered 3 boba teas. Ultimately the food was good and reasonably priced but the service was not ready for that amount of customers. I saw some customers arguing with staff, I saw staff arguing with staff, and I even saw customers arguing with customers.
My review is not reflective of that day because I know it was their first day and insane, so instead my review reflects today which is a week after their launch, and today looked to be a somewhat slow lunch day. First off, the quality of the food was the same as opening day, which was good. The baguette for the bahn mi was nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meat was flavorful and I liked the sauce I was given. I would have liked a few more of the pickled veggies, but overall it was a solid sandwich. I also ordered the Korean corndog and it was nice and crispy. The service was good, not great. The server that took our order got confused a couple times with what we ordered and had to come back to us to verify what we ordered, but the food came out quickly and correct. Bathrooms were nice and clean with soap as well as hand sanitizer.
One thing I would suggest is to fix your menu. I have good eyes and it was really hard for me to read it. Even the server couldn't read it which might have lead to some of my order confusion. I'd suggest bigger font as well as a font that's easier to read. I do like the pictures shown on the menu for some that might not understand what the...
Read moreI’m always looking for a better pho place in the area, and I found one today. I ordered Special Pho XLarge.
Friendliness: The owner lady greeted me as I walked in, and I felt cared for the whole time.
Authenticity: As soon as I walked in, most customers were speaking Vietnamese. I knew this is the place to be.
Broth: Definitely had depth to it. It’s the authentic taste I remember from my time in Southeast Asia; to be more precise, it had similar taste to pho I had in Vientiane, Laos area. Loved it! (Not a negative thing, but if you prefer clean broth [and you connoisseurs out there know what I’m talking about if you love soup as much as I do], you’ll enjoy it less than I do.)
Size: First of all, they do offer various sizes, so that’s a plus. Second, XLarge actually means XLarge to them. When I order XLarge, I want a bowl of pho that makes me wonder if I can finish it. And it surely did. Third, noodles-to-meat ratio was perfect for me—basically one piece of meat per spoonful of noodles.
Atmosphere: Personally, not a fan of neon light decorations. But that didn’t hinder me from...
Read moreThe food was very good, and presentable. the lighting and atmosphere of the place was very nice. Which is why there is 2 stars. But the service…. The service was not good at all probably, by far, the worst I’ve ever encountered. The server had only one answer to our questions.. and that was “I don’t know”. We did not understand the menu and tried to ask questions to get a better understanding and the only answer we got was I don’t know… we finally order our food and the server just came back time after time asking questions about our order for about at least 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes pass and we finally get our food… but we’re still waiting on drinks. Once we get everything we ordered everything was good. The owners just need to better their servers and make sure they better understand the menu. I’ll give our server the benefit of the doubt and say it could be her first job or first time serving. I know this restaurant just opened but it was almost unreal,...
