One word. Inconsistent! I very much wanted to give 5 stars based on first visit. Have now been here 4 times. Maybe the first times spoiled me as it was awesome. Then came for breakfast and over easy eggs came very close to over hard. Few other issues also. 3rd time had dinner. Fish cooked perfectly. Fish is hard to do right without overcooking. Salad bar was fresh and good. They have great fries. Tonight was disappointing. This place on a good night can be 5 star. The hot rolls brought to table , cold!! Veggies tasteless and cold. I actually got a “top” of a carrot. Don’t much like having the throw aways served to me. Tomatoes in salad bar mixed with wedge and cherry. They obviously ran out of the cherry and the wedges looked a bit sad. Normally the salad bar is VERY good. New York strip cooked as ordered “rare” but I have NEVER before had trouble sawing through NY strip. I VERY much doubt the cut was NY strip. Unless maybe it was the lowest grade meat available. We are talking about the same meat that is part of a T-Bone and Porterhouse. I’m “guessing” I was served a very thin cut Sirloin. Tasty but very hard to cut. Ribs fall off the bone tender but then used Open Pit sauce. Open pit to me is about the cheapest and among the most horrible bottled sauce on the market. Yes I asked to be sure. At the very least if your gonna use bottled sauce spend a little extra and serve a better grade Sauce. Almost any other sauce would be an improvement. As the ribs were part of a pick 2 you get what you pay for but if these are same ribs served as full slab then they would be quite small. I have small hands and the bones were no longer then my little finger. All in all this is a hit or miss place When it’s good it’s very good low cost for what you get and worth every cent. But consistency is needed. My score would be...
Read moreWe saw the other reviews and pictures of this restaurant as we were driving to Peoria for work. They looked and sounded good, but were FAR from what we experienced. We ordered individually, the Chicken Parmesan and the Steak and Shrimp special.
I don't know how they can call this cooking when BOTH plates were microwaved. The Chicken Parmesan was a breaded, processed chicken patty with some cheese put on top and then microwaved to heat it. Then it was smothered with canned spaghetti sauce and spaghetti which might be the only thing they actually cooked.
The steak, if you can call it that was ordered medium rare. It was less than 1/2 inch thick and had premade grill markings on it. It was also obviously a precooked entree which they microwaved to heat. It was so tough that it was left on the plate. So much for their $13 steak and shrimp special.
The salads had been made, at best, the day before. Lettuce was tinging toward brown and limp, not crisp at all.
The chicken and rice soup was a canned MESS.
The waitress NEVER once brought more water, even though I placed the empty glass right in front of her on one of the infrequent visits to the table. My glass stayed empty, not one single refill.
At the end, when I went to pay, I pointed out the vast amount of uneaten and inedible food left behind. The cashier/greeter said she was new, did not offer even a partial refund, and DID NOT CALL A MANAGER, although she said she would make my comments known to the "CHEF". What a joke.
Spare yourself some time and wasted money and bypass this pitiful excuse for a restaurant. They do not cook food, they serve yesterday's leftover salad and...
Read moreWe went there on a Friday night and they were very busy. The waiter staff did a good job trying to keep up. When the food came the half fried chicken was very good, the mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like they had been sitting a while, they were dry and only ok, I didn't eat more than a few bites of them. There was a forth of an ear of sweet corn on the cob as a vegetable it was soggy but had a good flavor. I ordered blueberry pie for dessert it obviously wasn't very fresh and maybe not that great to start with, I ate a couple of bites and left it. I had grandchildren along and the two boys did want too try the pie and they liked and ate it. Overall, it was an...
