Souled Out is a Must visit. It is a Hidden Gem. Top notch service. The menu offered a fantastic selection and variety of southern food cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a Beautiful Tranquil place to dine that is so serene that overlooks Huron River with a Dam (that need everyone's support to be saved) The building has a lot of History Beautifully Architect design. Unforgettable wonderful experience. Decorum of Elegance and Ambiance Beautifully Incased Fire logs in center of one of the dining areas, with two beautiful glass garage doors leading to outside patio with fairy tale lighting on outside patio area that over looks the water. The food was absolutely amazingly delicious cooked to perfection from presentation to the final bite. Very reasonably priced. Flavors were beautifully balanced. Soul Rolls are a must try delicious. I had baby back ribs, mac and cheese and greens my brother had catfish dinner, red beans with rice and mac and cheese. Meat was plentiful (a lot of meat on the bones ) the ribs were very tender the meat was falling off the bones. The Catfish was fresh golden brown cook to perfection. Red beans and rice were delicious, I assisted him in eating them as well. We both enjoyed the delicious food. The banana pudding was mouth watering and delicious .We had exceptional service from walking in the door meeting Fran (Bartender) whom also educated us on the History of the Dam that is adjacent. Kolby was our server whom was not only knowledgeable of the menu and helped us in excellent food selections but knew the Historical Authenticity of the Building. We not only received excellent service but had an amazing experience. Pleasurable Atmosphere. The most friendliest staff I've ever seen in a long time so pleasant. Congratulations to the New owners of this Beautiful Restaurant I had a great opportunity to speak with them The Taylor's very genuine hard working Beautiful couple humble, that were not only working in the kitchen but took time out to have a conversation and very accommodating to all of the customers along with one of their newest daughter who was an excellent Hostess. Chefs Kiss to the owners and staff for extraordinary experience and treating us like a V.I.P. Impeccable restaurant with excellent service. I know the love that they show in their food and in their personality will have a positive impact on this community. We will definitely be returning and Highly recommend this everyone. Truly Exceptional. Thank you so much for the...
Read moreI genuinely wanted to enjoy our visit to Souled Out Soul Food Cuisine—the name alone promises heartwarming, soulful dishes, and a comforting experience. While the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the overall dining experience unfortunately left much to be desired.
Our party of 10-12 waited over an hour just for cocktails, which were brought out one at a time by our server, rather than in rounds. By the time the last person received their drink, the first had already finished theirs.
When the food began to trickle out, it didn’t get much better. Two people received their side dishes—but not their entrees. Those sides were long gone before the main courses ever arrived. As for the rest of the table, no one else received their food until closing time. At that point, there was more frustration than hunger.
The food itself was inconsistent at best, and in some cases, downright concerning. The catfish was undercooked and caused one member of our group to become violently ill the following morning. My smoked wings were bone-dry, and while we were supposed to get four, only three arrived. The mac and cheese lacked both cheese and flavor, while the fries were undercooked and limp. To make matters worse, orders were mixed up and items were never communicated as being unavailable.
Our server seemed overwhelmed, which might explain the mistakes, but there was no clear communication, no real apology, and no accountability during the experience. The owners, while friendly, did not take meaningful steps to correct the situation. One person was offered a $10 gift card—an almost insulting gesture considering the circumstances—but even that was never actually given.
In the end, the only thing we left with was disappointment and one seriously sick diner.

Read moreSo I've seriously debated if I would leave a review. I've lived in the area for almost 20 years and was excited to see a soul food restaurant down the street. I honestly want to see them both thrive and survive in this area.
Reading other reviews and seeing the feedback. I decided to go ahead. I ordered take out and had a friend who was visiting pick it up. The food made an absolute mess in her car. Paper bags when you have food with juice like greens isn't always the best option. I would consider plastic and figure out a better way to package so it doesn't create a mess.
Now to the food. Although it smelled absolutely delightful, the taste left much to be desired. We ordered the smoked wings, catfish and the ribs. For sides we had mac and cheese, greens and candied yams. We also got an order of peach cobbler for dessert.
There was nothing we had that we really enjoyed. The catfish tasted like it was fried in old grease. The wings were and bbq were ok. The maccaroni and cheese wasn't cheesy or flavorful. The greens were probably the best out the bunch, but still not enough for me to come to the restaurant. I'm allergic to sweet potatoes so I didn't have them but both my husband and friend said they were not good. We had a side cornbread. It's my fault for not reading, but I did have to spit it out because as previously mentioned I'm allergic to sweet potatoes. Maybe consider calling it sweet potato cornbread.
Seeing all the reviews, I almost feel like take orders don't get the same love that dine -in customers. But someone did write a review that said they expected down south soul food and they were sadly disappointed. I'd have to agree.
I see you guys may be staying open late and having music nights. If you do, I may by chance try you guys again, but as of now, it's a no. For the amount of money we spent, I would prefer to make it...
