I live near here and was very excited to try their food. I picked a not so busy time to come in mid Nov 2018 around 2:15pm. Here is my experience. Upon entering I notice that the place was very clean. I also looked at the prices of their food and I wasn't as impressed but I thought to myself maybe you get quite a bit of food for that price. I went ahead and ordered just to street tacos. The 1st one was a chicken street taco and the 2nd 1 was a pulled pork. There were 2 people taking the orders Even though the place was not very packed. I asked a few questions but the lady at the counter didn't seem very confident in the way she answered me. One of the questions was how spicy where the tacos because I like a lot of spice. She said that there was no spice at all. I asked her for some salsa that was spicy and she said no that they did not have that . That was very disappointing to me Since I'm from Eastern Washington and street tacos are a major thing and they definitely have spice Or at least the option. I waited for nearly a 1/2 hour for just 2 street tacos! I thought everything would be made fresh as I watched him making my pork taco he reached into a vat of meat and began heating it up on the grill. It didn't get very hot and I witnessed him putting his bare finger into myfood- then he threw it away and grab some more to start the heating process all over again. Finally when I got my food , I headed out to the car to get moving since I would now be late . As i reached i to the bag to consume my pork taco the meat was still refrigerator cold! How is this even possible? I will not be returning. I am sad because I had such excitement for this place but it has left me...
Read moreSecond time here and not impressed. Food was ok but the service was not. I placed an online order, paid in the store and waited in the line to pickup food. As I reached the counter, another customer cut around me and held out her phone demanding to know if her order was ready. The woman working ignored me and helped the other customer instead. Proper thing to do would have been to help me and inform the other customer that she would be next. My food bags were literally sitting there. When I got home and unpacked my order, I found an order of beans instead of the taco that I ordered so now I had a kid with no food. I called and was told I could drive back and I declined since it’s about 15 minutes away. I was offered a refund and then wasn’t even refunded the full amount of the taco I’d ordered (note: I didn’t order anything extra, it was the flour taco as is at $3.10). In my opinion the better thing to do would have been to apologize, refund the FULL amount of the taco and offer to compensate. Simply adding a “free taco” to my account to encourage me to come in again would have turned this into a positive experience instead of a fully negative one. It really doesn't take much to demonstrate a little care. I’m now not interested in going again and they’ve lost a customer over poor handling of a $3 taco. Unfortunately for them, there are other good Mexican food places around where I can get equally good food with better service, especially given the...

We needed carryout boxes. On top of this, the service was outstanding. Big smiles, helpful and courteous. Excited to see this place thriving!
Good start. Dropped by after work to pick up a carryout on their first day open. This is a walk-up, order, sit down place. The cashier said they were not doing carry out on their first day, but she would bag mine up anyways (thanks).
I ordered the shrimp Atwater tacos, and they were a fried / breaded shrimp with a spicy breading. Very, very good. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa. They have a very competent house salsa, but the real surprise was a smokey flavored salsa that was put in the bag. Kind of brownish in color in the pic below, and really, really good.
I went with 4 stars due to the first day chaos, the menu board that flashes by too fast to read, the uncleared empty tables and the somewhat higher than expected prices ($12 for 3 tacos and a small portion of chips and salsa (no beans or rice). These dings are easily forgiven if all of their offerings are as good as the shrimp tacos (they were very, very good). Like many places Downriver, consistent performance and high quality will be the expectation if the prices are at this level. Well done on the...
