Was looking forward to trying this place ever since its opening was announced, and it didn't dissappoint. Tried several items from the Fish Camp restaurant, all were delicious and fairly priced to boot. Lobster mac had a healthy amount of lobster, hushpuppies were dense and delicious (not dry as they tend to be elsewhere) and the cod sandwich didn't feel heavy the way that some fried fish can. Bonus for generous use of peppadew peppers, which lent a subtley sweet spice to both the sandwich and the mac and cheese. Bartenders were friendly, greeted us immediately despite the busy day, and helped explain the menu right up front. We had a couple beers and a coconut margarita from the upstairs bar, which was a perfect choice on a sunny Sunday. Atmosphere is very family friendly, with plenty of space inside and out to sprawl out and a variety of seating options. Music upstairs was perfect for the atmosphere- not overpowering so we could still carry on a conversation without shouting. There are a few standard bar games to be played if that's your thing (i.e. cornhole) and there's plenty of parking. Definitely had a bit of the "new restaurant" feel but it seemed like staff was well prepared and things were humming along much more efficiently than a lot of more mature restaurants.
Couple of minor suggestions: Turn off the tv when the band is playing- it's a bit distracting as it's just behind the band and detracts a bit from the performance. And: wider garbage cans would be great- the openings on the cans is just small enough that your food tray won't fit, making it difficult to empty your tray when finished.
Looking forward to returning, happy to have this new spot just a couple miles from home- a welcome addition...
Read moreWow. How have I not been here before? I love this place. Upstairs and downstairs bars. Walk up and order from 3 different style foods. Burgers and Seafood downstairs with an inside / outside Bourbon bar. I love the frozen Arnold Palmer Bourbon drink.
They make homemade chips.. very good. The fish sandwich is huge and very delicious. The prices are fair for 2024. You are going to spend about $30 on food with alcohol. Im glad it ts not a local dive bar or another cheap local brewery.
Attractive happy people atmosphere was the feeling I got. I met and ended up chatting to the people on both sides of me. One was a very friendly guy in his early 30s, and the other was a sweet couple in the 40s. Some people brought kids, but as it got later, there were more and more singles and younger couples downstairs at the indoor / outdoor bar.
My food was ready very fast. The bartender downstairs was lovely and let me sample drinks first.
Upstairs is Mexican food with an indoor bar and frozen drinks as well.
Walk up and order and grab a table or seat. I love the eclectic seating on the edges that makes it comfortable if you are there alone.
Very clean and themed atmosphere. Live guitar music, tribute to great hits, when I was there.
Outside downstairs is a huge seating area with picnic tables over crushed slate. The pictures don't do it justice.
The manager walked around with a smile, asking if everything was good.
I was there in the early evening, but I'm going back during the day to try it again while I'd do...
Read moreWe were very excited to see Auction House open in Fletcher because there is certainly a void to fill for food and drinks in this small downtown. We have given the business four tries because we wanted to see them improve and succeed but it has been a very poor experience every time. The first time, I ordered a single drink and had to repeat the order 3 seperate times, but no big deal as they were just getting started and staff getting trained. Similar experience the next couple visits and had to wait 15 minutes on a slow day just to close my tab and was constantly ignored. Today we ordered food, also on a slow day, and were told it would take 10-15min. I never left our table once and after 50min the buzzer went off. I went inside to get our to go order and was asked if we didn’t hear the buzzer going off as they buzzed it several times. I explained that it never went off until this most recent attempt and they explained they just assumed we were first responders and left. I grabbed the cold food and explained that I believed them that they tried but that the buzzers are not working properly as it never went off and left. This is such an easy business model to be successful in this area and it is such a shame that it is operationally such a disaster. The longer drive to AMB or Sierra Nevada is...
