Golden Gate Restaurant — Restaurant in Flint Charter Township

Finally I was able to go and try the Philly steak, egg bagel sandwich. And the hype was not a lie. Meat was seasoned perfectly, onions, green peppers, scrambled egg for me (but you can get it fried as well), and Swiss cheese. I was full and satisfied. My friend ordered the steak and eggs. We've gone to other places and they can't seem to make a medium steak, but she cut in and the delight in her first bite was all I needed to see. She also enjoyed the hash browns and she never likes them from anywhere. 😂 My daughter got tenders and chili cheese fries which she destroyed 😂. The waitress was kind and attentive, the environment was nice and laid back. I'll definitely be returning to come for some breakfast specials and another...

This restaurant has unfortunately gone down! WAS great for the past 20 years, but not any more...it's now overpriced, smaller portions, poor quality, and poor management (staffing & customer service). Make sure to arrive or order within an hour of opening because once business picks up they are no longer able to handle servicing numerous customers, nor take phone calls (as others have stated)! When I tried calling back after getting home to complain about my takeout order from them, the manager (?) stated he was too busy to talk. So no phone ORDERS or CALLS can be taken??? Sorry, not sorry Golden Gate...please return to our legendary local restaurant!!!...great food with decent prices that you don't...

We went in a little after 3 not realizing they close at 4. Food was hot and delicious, but the waitress brought the bill 30 seconds after our food "for our convenience." We were not offered dessert (which I had planned on purchasing) or a drink refill. I've been here a handful of times and service always seems a little "off" but the food is good.
