I DON'T SUGGEST GOING HERE AT ALL WE WILL NOT BE BACK We went to saganos Saturday in order to buy yum yum and ginger sauce in order to eat out leftovers from this place. That's ridiculous
When you pull in at the back of the parking lot is a burned out house which isn't their fault but you can tell your in a not so good area
When you first walk in it's very bland no decorations on anything except at the front over the sushi prep station a top 40 pop music on the radio at the front not even over a loud speaker just a small personal radio They have a large TV but the sound was off and it was on a loop playing 1 movie trailer over and over We had to sit at a table because all the booths were for only 2 people but the tables at the booths were meant for 4 people kind of odd. Not very comfortable for me as I'm disabled and chairs hurt me. For some reason all the booths are only about half the size of the tables you can tell they wanted to be as cheap as possible with everything in this restaurant
There were only about 10 people including us on a Friday night at 6pm for dinner
There are so many typos on the menu it's quite hilarious like who did they use for the print service and why did no one proof read the extremely large menu there were allot of what was supposed to be roll spelled rool and alasca not Alaska ECT.
The service was not good at all we sat for over 10 minutes waiting for our server to come take our order and again there were only 5 tables that had people at them and they only had 2-3 people at them. the food came out quick once our order was taken
Food was flavorless at best allot of rice and vegetables. The soup was just plain chicken broth from Walmart ( the cheap stuff) no flavor some chopped green onions they can't even put some rice noodles in it. It was not good all 3 of us left the soup sitting on the table. My wife and daughter ate maybe a few bites of their salad because it was drowning in what they call dressing soup
The salads were literally swimming in dressing like literally swimming half the bowl was soupy dressing.
The sushi was good with a lot of rice and cheap prices for sushi. my wife and daughter liked it. I'm not into sushi so no go for me.
I got the hibachi and it was not good. I got the chicken and steak there were huge pieces of chicken and steak but not very much mostly rice and vegetables and no flavor at all
The noodles were not very much. I don't eat the yum yum sauce so i asked for ginger sauce and it was just oil with no flavor very watery and also the yum yum was very liquid and runny like they're watering it down to stretch it out.
The menu is a large book with so much stuff mostly sushi only 1 page for hibachi, teriyaki, bento box, one page of drinks with only 2 desserts tiramisu and cheesecake
which neither that i eat so no go for me and the rest was sushi. It still cost us over 100 with tip and we will definitely not be back The parking lot is very small and really hard to navigate due to the close parking spots and i don't trust the cars behind you as the lot is so small someone might hit your car
If you're looking for a great hibachi place go elsewhere. Saganos is only a few bucks more and soooooo much better. If you want to go and not pay for the show kirin in Davison is a much better place for about the same price just a little...
Read moreWe've been looking forward to trying this new Japanese restaurant, but we were very disappointed.
The clear soup is just chicken broth with a few tiny pieces of mushroom. No noodles, no flavor. My salad was literally drowning in dressing. It was almost soup itself.
I ordered the seafood hibachi (shrimp, scallops, and calamari). For $30 I expected a good portion of seafood. Instead I got 4 shrimp 2 scallops, and a handful of calamari pieces. There were more vegetables than anything else on the plate. Nothing had any flavor, the scallops were rubbery, and the calamari and shrimp were overcooked and hard.
The yum yum and ginger sauce they gave us was so watered down that it wouldn't even coat the shrimp I dipped in it.
The one bright spot is the sushi. The three rolls we tried were really good. And they were really big rolls. I definitely would order sushi again.
There were 2 other groups seated when we arrived. We sat at a table waiting for our server for almost 15 minutes. When we got our food she asked if we needed anything and we never saw her again.
The decor, or lack thereof, doesn't appear Japanese or Asian. The booths are really quite strange with seats that would only fit one person on each side, but a table that's meant to seat 4. There are no pictures on the walls. They had some top 40 pop music playing and an add for a movie playing on repeat on the one TV.
If you're looking for good sushi at a decent price this is a good place to check out. If you're looking for hibachi I would recommend spending the extra couple of dollars per dish at Saganos where the food has flavor and you can watch them...
Read moreMe and my mom came from Dearborn Heights (almost a 2 hour ride) to this place and after eating my only regret was that I didn’t live closer. The place looks humble and the inside looks too, but it is nice. Cozy, even. It’s like sitting in a late 2000s Cadillac Escalade (the big fancy Cadilac truck for those who don’t know). The workers are so hospitable that it’s like they’re your close friends or maybe even family. Nice, welcomes you, and they always got a smile on their face. For anybody who gives these kind people a hard time, shame on you.. Anyways, the seats are very comfy. And the food was even better. We got a few complimentary appetizers after we ordered. Again, complimentary, purely out of kindness. The food wasn’t that long of a wait and it was great! The California rolls are addicting and the salads are too. If you brought 6 year old me to the restaurant, I’d be eating veggies all day after!
Anyways, that basically sums it up. The food was amazing, the people there were as well, and I would definitely go there when I visit the area again. (Also my name is...
