The Donut Shoppe — Restaurant in Florence

I'm sad to report that The Donut Shoppe has closed for good. I ventured out at 5 AM on their last day open. This place is a Shoals icon and proof was in the fact that cars were lined up in the drive through for what looked like half a mile and those who decided to go inside were lined out the door. Thankfully, I went early before the crowd really hit. I ordered a bag of doughnut holes (my wife's favorite) and got a dozen assorted (for myself). When I got to the register, I was embarrassed to realize I forgot my wallet but thankfully, after a bit of searching, I found my card info saved on my phone. The customer service at The Donut Shoppe was the best, as were the doughnuts. It really kind of sucks that they're closed. I mean yeah, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin are good but they just don't have that "locally owned, made the old fashioned way" goodness. Thank you, Donut Shoppe. You...

The staff have always been super wonderful here! Every time I've come I've had an amazing experience, let me tell you when I say that they don't short you on filling in their filled donuts I mean it! But today I had the absolute best experience with them ever. My nephew got it in his head that today he absolutely needed a donut with white frosting and sprinkles, walmart had none, krispy Kreme had none, and donut shoppe was my next and last option, the girls at the window greeted us so enthusiasticly and when I asked if they had a donut like that they told us yes! My nephew was beyond excited and the girls at the window couldn't have been nicer when giving us our donut, they absolutely made this little man's day and I don't think I could ever thank...

These homemade doughnuts are outstanding! Forget about the BIG doughnut shops that rip you off with inflated prices, poor customer service and an inferior product. The Donut Shoppe is locally owned and operated. They have the best doughnuts in the area! More importantly, they open at 5AM!
