Are here recently with my family to celebrate a birthday. This was my first and will be my last visit. This restaurant wants to squeeze every penny out of you that they can with charges that aren't mentioned until the end of the meal. First, gravy costs extra? Are you for real? Where else charges for gravy? No where. And if you are going to charge for it, the server should mention it when someone orders it. Ours did not. Second, we ordered a personal regular priced pizza. The server recommended a small half priced pizza, saying it would be cheaper. But she failed to mention the 18% automatic gratuity that would be added for ordering a half price item. This is something you mention up front. When I mentioned that she never said anything about it, I was told that you "don't tell every table" and that it was written on one of the menus on the table. Which it is - on the back, tucked away in the menu holder, with no attention brought to it. I - and I'm sure many other customers - have never run into this before, and wouldn't think to go on the search for the rules of the deal. Having it written on a small price of paper and hidden in with the other menus is pointless, sneaky, and just covers the restaurant's ass. Food was good but not worth the price or the surprises on the bill. Not impressed. Stay away unless you like places and servers that only care about upping their tabs, not...
Read moreI have been going there to eat for 7 years now. We are here for 6 months and we usually go on a Wednesday night about once a month. I’ve b always been happy, especially with the new owners. Last night I ordered a 10 inch pizza. When it came it was a thick crust. I’ve ordered pizza most of the time and never got thick crust. Maybe I ordered a bigger pizza before. But anyway, I told the bar tenders. I don’t like thick crust and they explained that the 10 inch was only thick crust. At first the one guy said you could choose the thin, but Sean explained that no , it’s only thick crust Anyway , I have never had a bad meal or a bad drink in all of our times visiting before. Then I overheard one of the bartenders say it’s a full moon and they are out tonight. I guess that was meant for me. Anyway, I ended up getting a 12 inch pizza with thin crust. I paid for it though…FULL PRICE AND I PAID FOR THE 10 inch pizza as well. I was very disappointed. I usually leave a 20+ % tip , but I didn’t even leave 10%. I guess our business is not worthy of...
Read moreSaturday night visit in the early part of the high season. First week in November and all the usual clients have found their way back to Fort Myers to begin their winter slumber. Place was packed and they had the A-Team on to provide perfect service. Went for the special tonight which was a pot roast and the locals love it but we arrive too late and they were out. That was a perfect opportunity to have our evening spoiled when our server told us that the grouper sandwich was out of this world. Taking her advice. We ordered three grouper sandwiches for three grown boys and we upgraded to tater tots. Presentation with perfect and cook to perfection. Flavor was outstanding. Service was phenomenal. We will not walk back. We will run the next time we have an opportunity to eat at Bayside. We stayed right next door at latitude 26 resort and Marina talk about simple 40-yard walk for a five-star dinner. Good job Bayside. I can see why the locals suggest...
