Not good at all. Grouper filet - the whole fish - was the size of my hand. When I asked the server if it was grouper and told her I doubted it because of the size, she went to the kitchen and returned and told me it wasn't. When I asked why they called it grouper, she just shrugged. Onions in the onion rings were too small. The outside was tasty and crispy; but, the onions were just strings. Need to cut them larger. And, the cole slaw was made in a blender. Blends the flavor out of the cabbage. When I posted a similar review on Trip Advisor, the owner - Goran Stojkoski - attacked me. This is for Goran: When someone gives you a negative review, you don't respond by attacking the reviewer. You respond for all of the other folks who will read the review. When you attack the reviewer, you display your lack of class. You're a winner in that category. Plus, the local paper prints articles about restaurant reviews. Liki Tiki did horribly in the last inspection. Plus, their restaurant license had expired and they had not gotten premission to remodel. Plus, lots of inspection violations. Tells us more about Goran and...
Read moreTLDR: This is NOT a BBQ joint. Don't come expecting a great smokey brisket or any meat.
The full review: I should have read the reviews before I ordered. A previous reviewer had shared thier experience about the brisket. I agree, this may have been a brisket meat but was not cooked as one would expect brisket. A pile of mush was spot on. I would describe the flavor as something more like roast beef or similar. I didn't detect any hints of smoking the meat and the only BBQ sauce available on the table wasn't good. My wife ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which was tasty. The fries come overdone and are tasteless so don't order those on purpose. Our waitress was super friendly, she did a good job. The atmosphere was lively and the music was good so if you're just going out for a few drinks and fun it might be the right place for you.
Please don't call yourself a BBQ place, when you're not. That's probably what sets you up for the bad reviews. You responded to the other reviewer saying you would address this brisket. In my opinion it still needs work and maybe removal...
Read moreCould the nicest restaurant in Fort Myers Beach really be a BBQ joint? Maybe, because liki tiki is the brainchild of Naples' Aqua owners. This place had a great long bar which wraps around the entire exterior; perfect for people watching. The ambience is set by the tastefully small table lamps strung like a Garland along the entire bar. The menu is simple, catering to the local demographic: fried foods and barbeque.
On my first visit I ordered each of the BBQ offerings; ribs - both St. Louis and baby back - pulled pork and brisket. Perfectly cooked and lightly flavored. The St. Louis ribs were Polynesian style glazed. Not my favorite but a great contrast with the baby backs which were more traditional with a light molasses based sauce. The brisket was amazing. The pork - well, hard to mess that up. The only criticism of the pulled meats was that they might have been a little too moist; at the edge of turning mushy.
Started with the Texas oysters raw, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. All respectable.
My next visit, I had the burger. Solid choice. TVs...
