I had a VERY bad experience at a local restaurant and feel I need to share. Me start by saying first and foremost. The food and service have been really really good the handful of times we have eaten there before. My wife and I ordered our food with no modifications to the order. We a also ordered two glasses of water. Our food came out and her order was correct but mine wasnāt. Apparently, there are two different versions of the meal that I ordered. I am not familiar with the menu to know that. The server offered to make it correct but I declined. I have worked in kitchens before. I don't trust this restaurant enough to send food back for correction. That one is on me. The server offered to bring me a bowl of gravy because what I wanted came topped with gravy so I agreed. After I took one bite I tasted the green peppers. What I originally wanted did not say that it came with green peppers. The menu said it came with pepper, but not green peppers. I even double checked. It said āpepperā (singular). Those are two VERY different items/ingredients. I sent the meal back and decided not to order anything else. When we got the check, there was a charge for a cup of coffee, a soda as well as my meal and a 10% discount. When I disputed the charge for my meal with the manager I was told that I had to pay for my meal because they compād me a bowl of gravy. My original order came TOPPED WITH GRAVY. Only after my wife pointed out that we had water and not coffee or soda did they take it off. They would not budge on the ticket even though I didn't get the correct meal due to the server not making sure the order was correct. Then, there were items on the plate that were not listed on the menu. They even tried to add items to our order that we did NOT have. (soda and coffee totaling $6). I understand it is a small business and some of them are struggling. That is definitely not the way to earn money. Stealing from your customers is a quick way to put yourself out of business. I put cash on the register with the receipt. It was enough to more than cover the bill and a generous tip for our server if they had actually done the right thing. The right thing would have been not charging me for food that I did not order, only had one bite of the wrong order and subsequently sent back. Iāve worked in the service industry for a very long time. I also know that customers are not always right. In fact, customers are sometimes jerks! This incident is squarely on the restaurant. They made a mistake, and they refused to make it right. I did not make a scene at the restaurant but that is the last penny they will ever get from me or my family. And since you were wondering, it is the Black Creek cafĆ©. I ordered the Big Boy. I did not know there was a Big Boy breakfast as well as the Big Boy burrito that I actually wanted and thought I was ordering. Think twice before you go there and if you do double check your receipt to make sure they didn't add anything that you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI (my party of 5 and a baby) came to this restaurant 2 days in a row for breakfast because everywhere else was crowded and I was staying in town for the week. The food was overpriced for what they were serving. The food was okay everything I ordered had a weird taste to it though. I dont know if it was from the plates or what but it made it very unappetizing. The selection of drinks was lacking. I got sweet tea the first day which normally is okay for me but it made me sick and so I asked for a water which turned out to be the nastiest water I've had. The second day I asked for a coke and I was told all the sodas are flat so they had no CO2 on a very busy day. I ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet the first day and Biscuits and Gravy the second day and half way through both meals I started to taste something chemical idk if the plate wasn't cleaned enough or what but it was very unappetizing. On the first day we were given the bill at the table and paid their as well and we left and it was alright besides the fact that the waiter, who I believe to be named Ashleigh, was incredibly rude to everyone in my party for no apparent reason. The second day we found a booth and a 2 person table close together to sit at and the waitress ran over to us to tell us we couldn't move the tables with the worst attitude I've ever seen when we weren't even going to move the tables to begin with because they were close enough. After we were finished eating we waited an extremely long time to get the waitresses attention to ask for the bill and she rudely stated that you had to pay at the register which was weird to us since that wasn't what we did the day before and there were no signs indicating that anywhere. The reason I decided to review this place to begin with is because of how rude our waitress was. I will never return here because...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe wished we knew Black Creek Cafe had a new owner a long time ago !!! We had friends tell us that we should give Black Creek a try that it had new owners and we are so happy we did . From the moment we walked in we could tell it was totally different, it had such a fresh, clean , hometown vibe . The staff is great , friendly and really work well together as a team . The food is always great . This is definitely are go to place now . Even when they are busy and or understaffed(which this has only happened once while we have been going ) it is ran well. We went in this weekend and unfortunately due to circumstances they were down a cook . The server made sure she let us know it might take a while for the food upfront . Usually when a restaurant is understaffed it is total chaos and the food comes out terrible , not here , as I sat there looking around you could tell that the whole staff was working together to make sure that despite being understaffed the customers would be taken care of and the food came out just as great as ever( Kudos to the cooks). If you haven't been here you have to give them a try you will not regret it !! I only wish they would be open for dinner too!!! Keep up the...
