So I wanted to like this coffee shop while I explore Jacksonville coffee shops and if I hadn't come back the first day I would of left a good review.
Day 1 4/4/23: I asked for a white mocha cold brew 50/50 almond milk but blended and a pretzel. They happily made it all and it came out perfect was happy.
Day 2: 4/5/23: Different staff asked for the same drink. Was told we won't make that. I asked why and got a vague we just don't implying it's not right or something. They wanted to make a blended latte instead with two shots of expresso. I had to get work done so I agreed. As expected it was bitter and expresso tasting rather than my smooth blended cold brew the day before. I even explained that I was bit concerned about the caffeine amount in her suggestion. Which she said she could make a half but tried to tell me there would the same in my cold brew. Which is not correct math below.
Here is the issue: I go to coffee shops around California and Florida and in 15 years of going almost every single day to some coffee shop. I've never been told by a shop they won't make me a blended cold brew many even have it on the menu as their standard blended drink offering. It's a very smooth drink and has almost no bitterness to it but a fresh coffee taste paired with whatever flavoring you put if any.
The Math: Expresso shots are 1 oz and according to google 64 mg per shot or oz. Latte 2 shots = so128mg caffeine Cold brew has a range but if you use a very strong blonde brew you'll be about 13 mg per oz weak ones can be half that. A blended drink is 50-60% ice So a 20 oz drink we can say 10 oz is coffee and milk if it's half and half 5 oz of coffee with 5 oz milk. 5oz of coffee in the blended blonde cold brew = 65 mg of caffeine
blended cold brew drink 65mg of caffeine blended latte 128mg of caffeine So yes a half shot would of been the same as an extra strong blonde cold brew but even an extra strong is half that of the standard blended latte.
So to me I got a drink twice as caffeinated and much more bitter and it wasn't what I...
Read moreAwesome breakfast burrito! Wife loved her breakfast as well. Exceeded my expectations greatly! Also, I used to stop in spring park coffee any time I was in green cove, to grab some "to go" brass tacks cold brew in a jug. Love being this close to my favorite coffee now, and so many whole bean options to try in my pour over at home. We will be regulars for sure!
My only critical suggestion would be to try to find a better solution to the "one guy with a computer taking a 4-top table". There were multiple big seating sections taken up by one guy with a computer in each, working and doing meetings and calls. I saw a few people/groups come in, look around and not find a table, and then leave, in the short time I was in there. It looked like some of these guys were set up to work there all day.
Great place, and there are so many items we are looking forward to trying. Love the murals and decor, very comfortable atmosphere! Welcome to the...
Read moreThis is a really nice coffee shop! The staff are very nice and helpful. The coffee here is fantastic! The prices have gone up over the year but it's still worth it for a once a week treat.
(2025 Update) My Favorite drink the Mexican Iced Latte was removed from the menu along with other specialty coffees, which I think was not a good move. I felt having those drinks really gave this place an edge over Starbucks.
Lastly, I noticed that the seats and tables are starting to show their age. Some of the chairs are very uneven, and the tables by the windows are wobbling heavy. I didn't mind it for the last couple months, but it is getting harder to ignore this issue.
Overall, I will come back again. It's a great place to hangout and read a book, draw, or chat with friends. Note Space is very limited inside, so either get here early or wait for a nice day to...
