Wakame Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

We just had a nightmarish experience!...not over-exagerrating...but when you're hungry, you're hangry!...so try to put yourself in our position and take this review for what it is...

We were starving...placed our 2 orders, online before 6:30. My order came out fine, but the other order, which was "Pad Thai, fried tofu, with extra sauce on the side", was not correct!

This was a simple order, it became "Pad Thai, NO VEGETABLES, NOODLES AND FRIED TOFU ONLY, WITH SAUCE ON THE SIDE". Noodles and tofu only?!...really?

My girlfriend, who placed the order made multiple calls to have this corrected...

•She was told that Linda was the manager •Linda told us to find someone else to deliver •Linda told us that Pad Thai was "noodles and tofu only" •Linda told us that the owner, Michael, would be available to speak to us an hour and a half after they closed, at 10:30 pm •Linda hangs up on her a number of times •We are told it's a misunderstanding, due to language, even though we are speaking with English speaking personnel •it ends up that we are being passed on to numerous employees working in the restaurant, who do not understand the importance of customer service, probably invoked by Linda, and we are hung up on time and time again, with no solution

There was no resolution made by Linda, the manager, to help us. I began calling the restaurant to escalate the problem with the order and discover that Michael is in the back, cooking...between our efforts of calling multiple times, we reach Jenna, head server, who was able to take charge of the situation.

We received a call from Linda, claiming that we should do a better job in placing our order online, and stated that they would send us the corrected order.

By 9:30, we received the order from Jenna...Thank you Jenna! We would have had a better evening if the order was received correctly as ordered and if it didn't take us 3 hours, give or take to get it right...we input correctly on our end, we expect the outcome to meet our...

The food is always great and the servers are very friendly!!! On today’s visit we decided to eat in since there were only a few people with lots of empty tables to social distance. We ordered our food about 50 minutes had passed my husband got up found our waitress to see why it was taking so long, since there was only four people seated at one table and two people seated at another table already eating.The waitress said the cook messed up our order(whatever that meant)?!? We waited about 15 minutes more and decided to leave especially when another waiter told a customer just arriving with no sign of even having a mask to sit where he wanted to. The customer decided to sit at a table near us instead of social distancing. We informed the waitress that we were leaving we stopped at the front to pay for our drinks and the lady at the front who was well aware of the situation offered NO apology. I’ve never experienced such poor service here as I did today. As I was reviewing some of the other comments it seems other customers have commented on the customer service of the lady at the front. I guess if she’s not the owner of the restaurant I think the manager should talk to her about better customer service. The one star wasn’t for the mistake made on the order it was given to the lady in the front for poor customer service. Remember friendly customer service and great food goes...

We were really excited to try the place out while being in the neighborhood, however the moment we walked in we began to regret it, yet still gave it a try. We ordered Massaman Curry with white rice (came with miso soup and salad with ginger sauce), and a tuna bowl and side of noodles.

Curry to be honest was not great: vegetables were cut in irregular sizes that were very difficult to have in a bite size (literally had a piece of onion that looked like it only got cut in half and threw in), carrots were Half cooked/half raw. I asked for level 3/5 in spicy. At least the fried tofu was fresh.

Tuna bowl had way too much sauce (covering all the rice and still have liquid) and not enough rice. Seaweed salad in it was not very tasty and texture was mushy.

The only thing that was okay-ish was the noodles.

The place has so much potential but it is lacking some love from management. Tables are work, felt sticky; lighting was a cool tone, which made it not so homey in my opinion. Some revamp on the decoration and some lighting adjustment would go a long way.

Would I come back?...
